Obtaining a college degree is such an important step in life that it has become a central part of the “American Dream”. Go to college, get a job, buy a house, and raise a family. It may not always be that simple, but it all starts with your college education. When obtaining a college degree is all about opening up opportunities in life. It prepares you, both intellectually and socially, for your career and your adult life. The benefits of a college education include career opportunities like better paying and higher ranked skilled jobs, but studies have shown that it also leads to overall happiness and stability. I chose West Virginia Wesleyan because they offer me something that a lot of colleges don’t provide. West Virginia Wesleyan provides me with a 4- year degree in veterinary Medicine. I have been told personally that they will provide me with all the information that I need to know, so that I can engage my career in becoming a veterinarian. Depending on what rank of a Veterinarian you want to become clarifies how many years you will be attending school. To earn a Veterinarian Medicine Degree you will have to attend 4-years within the college. If you want to be an official Veterinarian then you may end up going up to 8 to 12 years in college. Within this job you will be working with animals 24/7. You will be proceeding with surgery, dressing wounds, daily checkups, over protective owners, and sadly to say, but also having to put down animals is required. Becoming a Veterinarian is very hard work, and you have to be very dedicated for the career. Also when being a Veterinarian there also that yearly salary.
