David Goldberg, once said, "All of our development since the world war 2 has been centered on the car, and that will have to change." The amount of congestion in certain parts of the world has been intensifying smog making them the most populated places in the world. In this type of world that we are living it is crucial that we take a look into a society without cars and understand what it is like to live in that type of society, know what the people go through everyday surviving without a car and the positive effects that it would have on us.

Cars have made the human population lazy in way. "Millions of Colombians hiked, biked, skated or took buses to work during the car-free day...", Because of modern day technology, Now people just hop in a car not really thinking about what it's doing to our environment. In countries like Germany they have made it harder to own and maintain a car. Elizabeth Rosenthal elicits in “In German Suburbs ,Life Goes on Without Cars.” that “ 70 percent of Vauban’s families do not own cars and 57 percent sold their cars to move here.” This quote shows that more people would much rather live in a wholesome environment than a polluted place. …show more content…

Pollution right now is extremely high. Mr. Sivak's a professor of the university of Michigan's transportation research institute states that, " I was curious about what kind of people drove, but young people don't really car. A car is just a means from getting from A to B when BART doesn't work" (Elisabeth Rosenthal 5)
This just proves that most of the general human population doesn't care about the Earth
