In this paper I’m gonna be talking about the 12 stages of life development considering the main points of each stage and the milestones. The stages I will be talking about is Pre-birth which is the stage of potential, Birth is the stage of Hope, Infancy (Ages 0-3) Vitality, Early Childhood (Ages 3-6) Playfulness, Middle Childhood (Ages 6-8) Imagination, Late Childhood (Ages 9-11) Ingenuity, Adolescence (Ages 12-20) Passion, Early Adulthood (Ages 20-35) Enterprise, Midlife (Ages 35-50) Contemplation, Mature Adulthood (Ages 50-80) Benevolence, Late Adulthood (Ages 80+) Wisdom, Death & Dying Life. Pre birth is the period that usually lasts nine months, this is the stage where the major body organs and parts are made such as the facial …show more content…
The third stage of labor happens after you baby has come out, when your womb contracts and the placenta comes out through the vagina. Infancy is the stage or period of early childhood this is where the kid is full of energy learning where to crawl, roll over and sit up and eventually how to walk. Very basic skills are learned during through this period such as, coordination and the ability to represent images and objects with words. A lot of the child’s features also change during this stage. Early Childhood is a stage in human development. It includes toddlerhood and some time afterwards also this is where children play. However this is where language is learned and being used, they take what is and they combine it with what is possible. Also this is the stage where children become very curious asking Who? What? When? Where? And Why? Furthermore this is when the child develops a huge imagination and a imaginary friends. Middle Childhood is a time where where children develop their skills for building healthy social relationships with other children or adults. Also this is the stage that will prepare them for later developments such as Adolescence and Adulthood. Additionally this is where the sense of an inner subjective self develops for the first time, this is a time when sexual and aggressive urges are repressed aldo the child learns the values of their
The middle childhood is to leave the play years to start maturing years to start adolescence (Berk, 2010). During the middle childhood, children began to have a lot physical changes. As well as, they begin to discover there identify that they are. For example, secondary sexual organs begin to develop in the boys and girls, they will confuse about identify. The puberty is the cycle when children are out of control because they will transition to leave the children to enter adolescence. For instance, physical and behavioral changes will have some consequences if pre-adolescences do not deal well with them. Middle childhood is divided into two categories 6 to 8 and 9 to 12 years that reflects on children’s behavior (Nuru-Jeter et al., 2010). For instance, children learn to interact with other children, and how they will manage emotions and behaviors. Also, how they have to act with adults and children that totally different it. Also, the girl and boy have different physical and behavior changes for the gender difference. Middle childhood development makes for some factors that influence on physical changes, brain and nervous system, and social and emotional changes.
Infancy is from the ages 0-3 years old. It’s a time of rapid growth. During this period of time most changes occur. At this age children develop physical, intellectual, emotional and social skills. When a baby is born they are helpless and depend on their carer in order for them to survive.
When an embryo becomes a fetus at eight weeks, it is approximately 3 centimeters; by the time the fetus is considered full-term, he or she may be 50 centimeters (Brisbane 60). The fetal stage, that takes place during week 9 to birth, result in a whole bunch of changes. (Brisbane 61). During the fetal stage, all parts of the body mature, and the overall of the baby size increases. Although all of the organ systems were formed during embryonic development, they continue to develop and grow during the fetal stage as well. During the third month, the reproductive system becomes developed and the sex of the baby becomes apparent (Staff). For girls, the ovarian follicles begin to form and for boys the prostate gland. Throughout months four through six, the heartbeat grows stronger and other body systems become further developed (Brisbane 63). Features such as fingernails, hair, eyelashes and toenails form. During the period from seven months until birth, the fetus continues to develop, put on weight, and prepare for life outside the womb (Brisbane 64). The lungs begin to expand and contract, preparing the muscles for breathing (Brisbane 64). The time in which the baby is born is a very critical. In some situations, a baby can be born as early as 7 months. When a baby is born too early, his ar her organs are not usually fully formed. This can result in many complications and health problems. Including, If premature pregnancy is the case, the baby would need some intensive care in hospitals. If the baby survives the stages, at the end of the nine month of pregnancy the baby will turn to a head-down position to prepare for birth. If the baby is not in the head-down position and in breech position a cesarean section may be required, which can cause many more complications. If a baby passes all these crucial factors, it is guaranteed to be born
The key developmental characteristics of the kindergarten class which are in between the end of childhood and the beginning of middle age childhood, they differ in each developmental domain, below would explain clearly the developmental characteristics for physical, cognitive, language and social emotional development for kindergarten aged children .
Prenatal development is the process of rapid growth and change of a zygote to a fully formed baby that begins about 40 weeks prior to birth. It is divided into three trimesters where the first ends at the end of the embryonic stage, the second around the 20th week of pregnancy, and the third ends at birth. These trimesters do not correspond with the three stages of prenatal development known as germinal, embryonic, and fetal.
Those stages are the Germinal stage, the Embryonic stage, and the Fetal stage. The Germinal Stage is the first stage and it is a two-week period that happens after the sperm and egg cell join together to form a zygote. This process is called conception. After conception, the zygote begins to divide. This turns into into a ball of cells that moves beside the fallopian tube. This travels all the way to the uterus. This process is called implantation and it happens when the cells is placed in the wall of the uterus. This process takes about a week to complete. After the two weeks, the Embryonic stage takes place next. The embryonic stage takes two to eight weeks right after conception. At this point in the process, the ball of cells is now an embryo. In this stage, all the major organs form. The last stage of prenatal development is the Fetal stage. This last eight weeks after conception up to birth. One of the first things to take place is the sex organs begin to form. Next, the bones form, muscles form, and the fetus begins to move. The organ systems also begin to develop and the brain’s size grows. One of the last things to work independently is the respiratory and digestive
Infancy, is referred to the period of development of a child before the motor skills are developed enough to allow movement at will, it is a span of time that varies from birth to 1 years of age, in which a child sees the fastest rate of growth during its life. The term infancy is derived from the Latin word “infantia” which means unable to talk. It is at this crucial stage of development that we as humans undergo a series of major changes, ranging from physical to emotional. It is estimated that within the first year of life infants will triple their weight, (D. Hutchison, Dimensions of Human Behavior) for the first months of life an infant copes with the outside world by a series of involuntary reflexes such as grasping and suckling, such
Middle childhood begins at around age 6 and continues through to early teens (12, 13). It is a time when development is of great importance, preparing children for adulthood. Children who grow up in an environment where there developmental needs are not met
There are three stages of a pregnancy which start at conception and last until six weeks after the birth of the baby. The stages include antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum. Antepartum can be described as the period before childbirth, this would start at the time of conception until labor starts. Intrapartum is the labor stage of pregnancy. Intrapartum starts from the onset of labor until the delivery of the baby. Postpartum is the last stage of the pregnancy. This starts following the birth of the baby and last for six weeks after the birth.
It takes place the early fourteen weeks after conception. This phase may seem that the woman is not experiencing any dramatic changes but she is actually experiencing many extraordinary changes in her body at this stage. (Abraham, Suzanne, Alan Taylor, & Janet, 485) The unborn baby develops all the vital organs and goes from cells to a recognizable human fetus with completely formed limbs and toes. The flow of pregnancy hormones makes the mother experience many variations which might not be seen by the other people. In this phase, the pregnant woman experiences food cravings and aversions,
Middle childhood is defined a number of ways, but perhaps best defined as the ages 6 to 12 years of age or prepubescent to pubescence Middle childhood is a challenging time and a major challenge is social constructs, as this is the earliest time when children begin to move away from parental influences and establish more meaningful peer and other adult relationships. It signifies a new set of social contacts with adults and other children as well as a wider variety of settings than those that characterize early childhood. Children begin to see themselves as a part of a bigger whole. Peer influences can become more powerful than the adults in the children’s life and impact their sense of self. Grouping is established and teasing of others
After fertilization (in the fallopian tube), the zygote transforms into a group of cells that multiply rapidly. Then it moves towards the uterus, develops into a blastocyst, attaches into the uterine wall and differentiate into three layers (ectoderm, mesoderm and endoderm), that will give a beginning to all tissues and organs. The embryo forms embryonic membranes (yolk sac, amnion, chorion and allantois), which help to protect the embryo. The placenta begins to develop (from embryos chorion and a part of mother’s endometrium), which will transfer nutrients and oxygen from the mother to the baby, and waste products from the baby, will produce and secrete hormones, and it will be in charge of immunologic barrier. The placenta is connected to the foetus by the umbilical cord. Backbone, vertebral, the central nervous system, and small protrusions (future legs and arms) develop. Heart and blood cells are formed (circulation begins). At the end of this month, the embryo is around 6-7mm long. During the second month, small protrusions transform into arms and legs. Fingers, toes, and eyes develop (become apart and eyelids are fused). Fundamental blood vessels, sensory, internal organs and digestive tract are formed. Neural tube development is well progressed and the ossification begins. By the end of the second month, the baby, now a foetus, is about 3 cm long, weighs about 1g. During the third month the foetus fully develops its feet, toes, arms, hands and fingers, it can
The fetal stage is the stage in which is marked by rapid growth and preparation
Birth of a child can be such a happy time, especially when the little one is very healthy. We all have seen the movies when a new child is born, some of us are lucky to see it first hand. Some of us do get goose bumps, me being one of them. It is just so exciting to see that little life come out of what has been in that big belly for nine months. We sometimes refer to the birth of a child as labor. If only it was as easy as the name sounds. However, it is not. There are three main stages in birth. The first stage is the longest stage that can last 12 to 14 hours with the first birth, and later births are shorter. Dilation and effacement of the cervix take place here. That is when the uterine contractions gradually become more frequent and
Early childhood education is a time where young children develop important learning skills. Young children, aged birth through approximately 8 years (young children, 2004) interact with one another to develop social and even motor skills that they will carry with them later in life. Development in young children involves the early years in a child's physical, social-emotional, language, and cognitive development (Baur, 1998).
