Within all of the diverse places we are all similar because we are all human. We have the same wants and same needs; the only thing that makes us different is the location we originated. Here in the United States, Americans, whether realizing it or not, consider themselves higher in status. Even though they are diverse within themselves, the whole is considered the superior people by not only themselves but by surrounding countries as well. Even in early stages of life, Runa was destined for greatness. She grew up learning to not only be fluent in Bengali, the native language, but also in Hindi and English. There was a brief time where the school was strictly girls only, but that changed soon after Runa attended due to the growing population. She enjoyed her studies very much. Returning home was the best part of her day; at home she would receive catering by “house-help” as she called them. How nice it must have been for her to have such a pampered environment to retire to. After her school days, her family agreed with her that it was time for her to venture away from the comforts of home to a bigger pond, the United States of America. She traveled to Louisiana because some of her distant family resided there. Louisiana State University was her first choice in the state to attend college. She fell in love with the campus, people and curriculum. Runa is a perfect example of a “non-traditional Indian.” She is talented at a variety of different things, but the most notable is science, especially chemistry. She is a supplemental instructor teaching chemistry. Runa came to the United States after she spent all of her childhood in India. After a brief time in the states, she immediately knew the field in which she wanted to study. Her dream was decided after the second week of school, she wanted to be a biochemist. When thinking in the terms of marriage and one’s partner, the words that come to my mind are compassion, love, tenderness, trust, and devotion. It’s truly amazing to see someone who has endured such tragedy in their life, who has suffered pain, fear, and betrayal by the hands of the one person who should have shown just the opposite. Little did I realize that the woman who would be my instructor for two college courses I had taken would be such an inspiration to me.
Alyssa is showing concern about who will view her record. The case manager explains that she knows privacy is important to Alyssa. The supervisor, consultant, and other staff who are working directly with Alyssa cannot view her record without her signed consent. In explaining to the client there are exceptions in cases of emergency where information may be shared without her consent. CW is a 49-year-old female who lives in Kingston, PA. She currently lives with her husband and two children. She is employed as nurse at First Hospital, in Kingston, PA. CW recently began a new job in a different department of the hospital. CW expressed that throughout her adult life, raising her family is most important to her. She is focused on accomplishing her roles of being a wife, mother, nurse, and daughter. She likes to be social and meet new people. CW values her independence and finds every job that she is involved in to be important. She dislikes people who put other people down. Overall CW values her family and hard work ethic.
The main character is a girl named Usha, who was young when she moved to the United States. She grew up abiding to Bengali culture and lifestyle in Massachusetts. As she gradually matures to an adult and her own person, it's shown that Usha struggles to find a balance between the American culture that she's surrounded by and the Bengali culture that fits the mold of her family.
Immigration is alive and well in New York City. There is no need to look at sophisticated statistics or complicated data in order to prove this – a walk around the city or a subway trip will suffice to see the vast representations of other nations around us. Based on this observation, it is safe to say that all of us are ocular witnesses of the immigration phenomenon among us. But sometimes our mere eyes are not enough, or not capable enough to decipher the full story behind the lives of these migrants. In fact, mere observation, the kind of observation that lacks proper interaction and participation, can usually lead to negative stereotyping – which should always be avoided when trying to understand another culture. It is for this reason that it is necessary to not only give these migrants a voice, but also a set of ears willing to listen and understand their stories.

I interviewed my mom,Jen Figarelli. She is very dedicated, Intelligent and loves what she does as her career. From my knowledge she wasn't that “perfect” student who got straight A’s and did all her work, but she was not a bad student either. The attitude given during this interview seemed as if she was able to have fun and take things seriously.
Harijanto, a high school senior, plans to attend Juniata College next year to study Biochem and Data Science in hopes of becoming a Pharmaceutical Scientist in the future. There she plans on participating in numerous clubs, and even possibly starting some of her own.
The purpose of this paper is to discuss the results of my second interview and assessment with an older adult, including a depression assessment, a pain assessment, as well as discussion of the client’s home environment and advanced directives. Finally, I will discuss a teaching topic and a list of interventions that may benefit Mrs. W. As you may recall from the first interview, Mrs. W. is retired, but volunteers at the hospital where I work. Mrs. W. is very knowledgeable about her health, as well as the importance of health promotion.

Throughout the semester I have been working towards accomplishing some goals that I set out for interviewing. This essay will critically analyze the fourth session interview between myself and my client, Jessie. The session was about a 35-year-old woman who was feeling unhappy and lonely, after going through a separation with her husband of ten years. In this session, Jessie was feeling especially unhappy and confessed some suicidal thoughts. Similar to international students residing in the US, it seems like “first-generation” Americans also relate their mother tongues to their homes. In Beale 2017, bilingual person who has immigrated to the US from Russia when she was only five has lived in Brooklyn, New York City since then. Beale 2017 explains that New York City is a very diverse city where “a sense of communal identity” (Beale 2017: 1) is preserved in “large neighborhoods of immigrants from same cultural heritages” (Beale 2017: 1). This Russian-based bilingual individual, whose identity was profoundly shaped by her family, friends and neighborhoods in her youth, identifies herself as a Russian as opposed to Russian-American. Because of New York City’s own peculiar vibe, people would call themselves by their mother countries.
Throughout my high school career I faced several challenges that required me to overcome expectations and racial discrimination. During my freshman year I was constantly being eyed and focused on by the school’s assistant principal, Mr. Oliver, because of my kinship to my older brothers who also passed through the same high school. Immediately he assumed I was the continuation of my brothers; meaning I supplied the school system with nothing but trouble. On my birthday during my freshman year, I was exposed in front of the couple hundred of students who were inside the cafeteria for apparently attempting to be “a clown and comedian.” In retrospect, I and the fellow students who were sitting at the table with me, did sing “Happy Birthday,” but
