Inside the Mind of a Murderer Jeffrey Dahmer is a notorious American serial killer, who perpetrates many murders in the late 70’s throughout the early 90’s. Dahmer differs from most serial killers by reason of what he elects to do to the bodies of his victims. This research assignment comprises what Dahmer’s life is like as an adolescent as well as the minute details of his past that lead to the infamous and murderous acts of Jeffrey Dahmer. Jeffrey Dahmer has a seemingly normal and happy childhood, as he is born to two loving parents in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on May 21, 1960. On the night of July 22, 1991, Dahmer's victim, Tracy Edwards, gives him trouble as he attempts to cuff his wrists. Frustrated, Dahmer forces Edwards by knife into his bedroom for safekeeping. It is then that Edwards discovers the photographs of Dahmer's victims on the walls of the room and notices the putrid vapor coming from a barrel. Terrified, Edwards punches Dahmer in the face, kicks him in the abdomen, and runs out of the room. Once escaped, Edwards runs the streets with his handcuffs still hanging from one wrist. He waves down a local police car, and he leads the officers to Dahmer's house. The officers' initial focus is to investigate the situation and have the handcuff removed from Edwards' wrist using Dahmer's key. Upon arrival to the apartment, Dahmer assures the officers that nothing is wrong, but when Edwards advises an officer that the key to the handcuffs is on the bedside table, Dahmer races past the officer to the bedroom.
