Due to the number of people here at TSU, we are ill equipped to handle to large number of cars that students are bringing. The system in place currently consists of the following; the main parking lots that surround the residential halls, once those fill up the other students go to a dedicated parking lot about a five-minute walk from the halls. However, this year the student load is too great, so a new overflow lot has been designated on the other side of the campus. In my personal experience, I have had to go to that lot before, and even that one is almost over capacity. One night while riding with a friend, we were just leaving and there was two or three other cars just sitting there waiting for us to get out of the mediocre spot instead of looking around for another spot, as we left the parking lot, it became clear why they did that, there were no other spots available. When we got back it took about an hour to find a parking spot as we had to check all the other lots for a spot, and ended up parking on the opposite side of campus to our dorms. Other students I asked stated that during the week, there’s very little chance of getting a parking spot. Only Friday morning through Sunday afternoon are there any reasonable amount of parking spots in any of the parking
Tell me, the professor, how this course is going for you so far? How do you find the material?
Most of the university classes conduct on the weekends. Harrisburg university parking can be used on the weekdays for the public and on the daily average more than 2000+ visitors come to the Harrisburg Downtown and very few parking lots are available in the downtown area. Harrisburg can provide the competitive pricing for the short term and long term parking services to the public and can reserve the separate parking for the students of Harrisburg University. Harrisburg University can generate more finance if it creates additional space for the parking lot. Students and faculty can have the special access to the Harrisburg university parking lot, which is used on the weekends.
The problem with using the ATA bus system to solve the campus parking problem is the location of the bus stops, the time waiting for the bus, and the cost of the bus if the stop is off campus. The free stops on campus are only located within campus. Off-campus students will still have to find a way to get to campus to get on the bus. If a student wants to get on an ATA bus outside of campus they will be charged a fee. Another problem is students do not want to wait on the buses to get to their stop or if the miss a stop they have no way to get to
As a student you are expected to show up to class on time in order to get the most out of the class time. This can be hard for some students as well as professors because when they arrive on campus there is no place for to park. They then spend the time they gave themselves for leeway, driving around in search of a spot. This causes them to be late.
Butler County Community College’s parking situation is appalling. Every day I have had class so far this semester I have been either late or right on time depending on how fast I power-walk through campus. The reason I am late is not that I am sleeping in too late or slowly making my way across town to get to the school. It is that I show up on time and spend at least fifteen minutes slowly driving through the parking lot looking for a relatively close parking spot. My own solution to this problem has been that now instead of looking for a spot close to the building my class is in, I just go straight to the very back parking lot and walk through the campus to the building my class is in. What I needs to happen is Butler County Community College has to add more parking, expand the campus, or invent teleportation.
Have you ever been late to a class because of parking? Have you ever had to show up hours before class just to become that creep that follows people around trying to find a space to park? Or even late to work because of the lack of parking? I know I have at Wright State University. There is such limited parking for commuter students and causes safety problems for the students on campus. Parking shouldn’t be just another stress in a college students life, we should be able to come to school knowing that they we make it to class on time because we will have access to a parking spot. When you live on campus it should be you “home away from home” and you should be able to feel safe.
5. What do you think about Homework? Why do you need to do it every day?
Don’t you hate walking all the way to school from the sophomore lot? Do you arrive at school only to see an empty Senior Lot sitting right across Nancy Creek? I know that I do. This annoyance is why I think the parking situation at Marist should change. We should get rid of the antiquated style of the seniors parking on campus while the other students have to park on the other side of Nancy Creek. The new method of parking should be first come, first serve. If you get to school an hour early every day, why should you have to park the furthest away from the school buildings? You should be able to park right up in front, in the Senior Lot. This would allow students to park wherever they please.
The cost for my solution could be free we give the parking stickers out for free now to all students, and faculty of Three Rivers. If a price was placed on the designated, and temporary parking stickers it would give the college a little more money. The disabled, and faculty parking permits could be around five dollars. The temporary parking stickers could be around two dollars. The fee for a replacement sticker whether it be disability, faculty, or temporary would be a dollar. This in the long run would give the college money to put toward things like road, and parking lot
5. Close friends always ask us for answers on homework and they get mad when we try to help instead of giving straight answers.
As being a commuter back and forth to college I find it hard to find a parking space. We have very many student, and not so many parking spaces. It is not just students that can not find parking. Students, staff, and administration all use same parking lot. Over two thousand people are using a parking lot with about one hundred parking space. I think we should turn where the old dorms were into a parking, and make a staff and administration parking.
On campus, I would rather have parking increase than public transportation. As a freshman keeping a car on campus would not be practical because there is not enough parking on campus and parking that is available is very expressive. Public transportation on the other hand has never been someone I readily needed or hand a problem using when I did need to use it. Most of the time when I have used public transportation it has fit into my schedule and hasn’t been a problem for me so improving doesn’t seem that beneficial. However, even students that aren’t freshman have problems parking, as it is very hard to simply find a place to park for 30 minutes when driving in
The shortage of parking space in America 's college is becoming an extremely concerned problem. This parking issue is highly impacting students ' campus life. Many college students, even faculties, and visitors find that it is hard to park on campus, especially at some busy times. The situation is that students would encounter parking is so scarce, and they have to wait for somebody to leave and take their spots. Otherwise, students have to waste their time driving around and around the parking lot. Even though students pay for their parking permit, they are not guaranteed for a parking space. The shortage of parking space causes a lot of trouble for students. Because of there is no parking space, students will get late for class, which could lead their grade to get lower. In other cases, students will have to park in a very faraway place, which they are forced to prepare more time to park and it takes them too long to walk to their classrooms. It also increases the risk and danger walking and driving in the parking lot. Drivers need to drive while they are searching, which could be very dangerous. To solve the shortage of parking spaces, colleges are suggested to build a parking structure, open more parking lot at busy times, manage the class time to relieve the busy period and provide more pubic transportation and bicycle services to the students.
