The last chapter we read from Sapolsky was about managing stress. It's interesting to me because as I was reading this my thought process revolved around that there are many many ways to manage stress. the key is you really just need to find what works for you. Sapolsky points out that if you're the lowest on the totem pole it's going to be harder to manage stress. He also points out that if you live in poverty it's going to be harder. However, it isn't impossible. You just need to find what works for you. At the beginning of this class, my boss was working insane hours, she was taking work home, and it seemed to be stressing her out. I think I might need to go apologize to her. For my self-care and managing stress, I take a similar approach to the parents in the study of adults Spolsky points out. Those parents had children who had cancer and the ones who knew that cancer could come back and kind of world came with that and at peace with that we're far better off physically at least than the ones who were in denial and hadn't really given it much thought. I'd like to say that I'm in a similar boat to the ones who are at peace with it I know stress is going to come I know it is a daily thing however I think I just go with the flow and don't fight it and let it be. She works Monday through Friday and attends classes on Friday evening and Saturday morning/afternoon. While at work, there is days where she has to stay late to catch up. “Coworkers seem to pile more and more on me. This stress is getting over whelming. I feel like a weight is on my shoulders. To help reduce stress for myself, even through I know its quite common practice for most managers I would write down a list of all my tasks and then put them in priority order according to timescales, importance and whether I could or could not delegate the task I would also consider how long they might take, having a list especially when I am feeling stressed helps me focus and ticking areas off can have a positive effect on me as the list reduces.

One of the four talks about frustration, which is when a person experience whenever the pursuit of some goal is blocked. This happens to me a lot when it comes down to homework or papers. For example, when I get an assignment for a paper and everything seems fine, but then I get stuck because I ran out of ideas to write about. When this happen I get very frustrated because all I want to do is just be done with the paper and get it out of the way.
