“An investment in knowledge pays the best interest,” once said by Benjamin Franklin, is a quote that is very important to me. If educational opportunities are taken seriously, the knowledge gained is invaluable. Throughout my years at Darlington High School, I have been very focused on my college education, including being a part of the Youth Options program at the University of Wisconsin - Platteville.
After I finish my education at Darlington High School, I will be attending the University of Wisconsin - Platteville to pursue a major in agricultural business. I believe that agricultural business is a great major choice for me due to my passion in agriculture. While I am attending Platteville my goals are to maintain a GPA of 3.75 or higher,

These goals will help me be more successful in my future. With my major in agricultural business, I plan on becoming an agricultural loan officer to help farmers and rural citizens achieve their goals by obtaining funds to pursue their operation.
Throughout my high school career, I can say that I have been very fortunate to be a part of many different groups and organizations. FFA has been the key organization throughout my years at Darlington High School. I have served as our FFA chapter’s secretary and student advisor. While being in a leadership position, I was able to be a part of many different activities through FFA, such as Adopt a Highway Cleanup, putting on our annual pancake breakfast, serving as a leader at Day at the Dairy, sending our annual boxes to soldiers in combat, and putting on a local petting zoo during FFA week to educate the elementary school about agriculture. Through our FFA, I was able to be the chairperson

My involvement on my team's lead to me to being part of the lettermans club. I have also been on the Honor roll all four years in high school which helped me become a member of the National Honors Society (NHS). NHS gave me the opportunity to volunteer at the Darlington Manor and donate to the local Blood Drive. I have also been part of Darlington’s volunteer organization, Leadership Education and Development (LEAD), being a member of the big brother big sister, tutoring, welcome wagon, good news, Christmas card to the elderly committee, and been a volunteer at the Darlington Fall Festival. I was a member of the Spanish Club and volunteered at Darlington’s Cinco de Mayo Celebration. I am also a 4 time member of Darlington's Forensics team. I also was in the concert band and treble choir and competed in solo ensemble, played in the SWAL Honors Band, performed in Darlington’s Cabaret, and worked backstage in Darlingtons Musical and
Let’s let that number soak in. That is a lot of people, but why am I writing to you about it? That is how many high school students practically meet in your honor every year. The National FFA Convention is held in October for the past one hundred years. It started off with two-hundred and seventeen people. I know you’re probably asking, how this relates to me, just hang in there. At this convention, FFA members do Career Development Events, which are based around agriculture careers. Also FFA members go to a huge Expo that has everything to tractors to dog grooming. Last, we get rewarded for our work in agriculture, these are known as Proficiency Awards. I got so much out of this this organization, I was the president of my chapter, National Finalist for the Small Animal Care Proficiency, and was able to compete at the National level in AgSales CDE. If it wasn’t for you I would never have these opportunities. Every time I think about a memory in high school, it was based round the blue jackets that honored you. You are the god of the National FFA Organization. There is so much to this convention and organization. These students are the future of your well-being. If it wasn’t for you, we would not know how to take care of you, provide for others and wear really awesome blue corduroy jackets. Speaking on behalf all FFA member, we love and appreciate
Being the former President of my FFA Chapter I was forced to listen and come up with one solution, that allowed all of the members opinions to prosper. Furthermore, I was graciously given the opportunity to serve on Comal County School District’s Student Advisory Board. Throughout this role I worked side by side with the
The Rio Vista FFA Chapter means a lot to me. The officers, as well as the members, are like family and the organization is my life. I schedule my everyday activities around my FFA priorities and that does not faze me. I even have attended an FFA meeting over the phone when I was sick because I felt guilty for not being there in person. I love FFA one hundred percent because of how much I love my animals and get to be around them. Not only do I love it because it gives all of the more reason to tell people my animals come first but because of the additional things I get to be involved in. Being in all of the activities I have joined has changed my attitude toward hard work. FFA has showed me what priorities really are, what they mean, why a lot of things have to be put last, and the purpose of leadership, respect, and responsibility. The things I get to do in FFA helps me to realize that hard work will pay off and that it’s not all about livestock, fertile soil, crops, and leadership. The things I have done in FFA have not only made me a better person but also improved my skills and my self-confidence.
I have been a part of almost every club available to me at Northeast Jones High School and in my community during my time in high school years. Some of the clubs that I am involved in are Beta Club, Serteens (president 2015-2016), Student Council (treasurer 2015-2016), Future Business Leaders of America, Teens Getting Involved for the Future, Key Club, Junior Auxiliary’s Crown Club, Yearbook, and Future Leaders of Jones County. My involvement in all of these clubs have helped me realize how important it is to be involved with my community in order for me to give back. I feel that it is necessary to be extremely involved before being selected for the Luckyday Scholarship, and it would be such a great reward for always giving to those in need to be selected for the Luckyday Scholarship. Because I have been involved with so many clubs and extracurricular activities that serve our community, I will not have a problem juggling academics with any clubs I might join at the University of Southern
Throughout my high school career I have participated in many activities and been awarded many great honors. As a member of my high school color guard, I have led as co-captian and captain for four years, traveling across the country to compete. Beta Club has given me the opportunity to serve my local community and create a service project to reach the globe. I was asked to lead the volunteers at my church for the early service in the children's ministry area my sophomore year and I continue to serve in this position. During my junior year I was acknowledged as a junior marshal, a Wofford Scholar, and a Presbyterian College Scholar.
Hi, I’m Logan Morris and I have been a part of the Perry County FFA chapter for the past 4 years. I have been very involved in the FFA competing in several contests, helping Ms. Cindy with the truck and tractor pulls and the Easter egg hunts, and even going to forestry camp. I have competed in the Envirothon, horse judging, and land judging. My group was lucky enough to even come in third place in land judging. I have been blessed to receive my Greenhand Degree, Chapter Degree, and even my State Degree. Receiving my State Degree was one of the happiest moment of my life because I had been working for that moment for a long time. The FFA to me is not just a club but a family. If it wasn’t for the FFA I would have never met all the people I have and formed friendships that will last a lifetime.
After high school I plan to go to attend Clemson University and earn my bachelors or masters in agricultural education and also get a business education.
From 1987-1997 I was an employee at Franklin High school. I served in variety of departments throughout the school community, which included the alternative education and curriculum/ media departments. In addition, I tutored students with disabilities, worked closely with ESL and honor students facilitating a peer/student Lauchach reading program. As an advisor for a Franklin High School community service club entitled AGS/AFM, I worked with students in many aspects involving fund raising. Together we developed an annual fashion show that the school community looked forward to each year. Other capacities of service at Franklin included working with their drug and alcohol group, volunteering my help with track and field. In addition, I was elected by the student body as a member of the Franklin staff to serve in a program called “The Franklin Friends.” This program encouraged and trained leaders who encouraged an environment of open, friendly and safe communication that would ultimately serve the student/staff throughout the school population.
I would like to share my background story and growing up in a small town. No one in my family has attended college. I will be the first to graduate high school and community college at the same time. I have come to love school. At a very young age I understood the kind of power, knowledge holds. When I was only twelve years old, I had decided that I was going to sacrifice my friends to pursue my educational career. A small town girl like me wanted to attend Robeson Early College High School to get her high school diploma and Associate degree in Science. Every day that I went to school it opened a new door for me. Knowledge has gave me so many opportunities that I didn't even know were out for a small town girl like me. Through knowledge and
During college, I also had an opportunity to shadow a group of medical professionals on a summer medical relief trip to Peru. On the trip, I realized life was so much bigger than my self-contained bubble of worries and concerns. Students from The University of Illinois’ Christian healthcare association aided a team composed of doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and therapists to run free clinics in Peru. I experienced first-hand how powerful it was when different health professionals worked together towards a common goal. My initial wonderment of the mountainous landscape was quickly put aside overshadowed after I realized the team did not have the resources to meet the needs of the large mass of local Quechua people that had gathered at our clinic. It was heartbreaking to witness problems that were otherwise so easily treatable in America. As resources dwindled, I noticed a therapist who was teaching proper lifting techniques to prevent injuries. He noted the prevalence of lower back pain largely due to the heavy labor a majority of the local men did for a living. This was significant as the physical therapist not only treated the symptoms, but rather empowered the local people to better themselves daily. I witnessed people being inspired to care
Ever since I was a young child I have had great interest in the economy and the business world. I pursued this interest by studying Business Studies for 4 years from it being one of my options in GCSE to A-Level and I have enjoyed every moment of it very much, as it blends in with everyday issues, but I still believe that there is much more that I can learn. I am a determined, hardworking individual who always strives for success. I believe these qualities are vital in order to be successful in completing Business degree. I am a fast learn and I believe that success comes from within and that my approach and attitude to the subject will determine how successful I will be.
My career goals include to work for a company in the agriculture field. I choose my career goals due to the constantly growing and demanding opportunities that exist in the agriculture
In society today, education and pursuing a college education is stressed to kids today like never before. It’s almost impossible to escape the idea that college is the best option, from commercials, parents, and teachers it’s drilled into their minds constantly. It’s now a common belief that the American dream is unattainable without the completion of college. The truth is, these days it almost is unattainable without a degree, trying to get a job interview or a high paying salary in this job market without higher education is nearly impossible. A college degree is now more important than ever.
I found the Business 101 class to be extremely informative. For me, the areas studied filled in several gaps. I learned in more detail about how businesses are formed, the U.S. economic system, the intricacies of the global market and marketing. I have run a business for multiple years, and although much of what we studied in class happens on a daily basis, there were definitely areas on which I needed to get a better handle on. Entrepreneurship and financial management are two areas that I will academically explore further, along with, professionally as further study in these two areas will bring me the added knowledge to run my business.
My desire in life is to encourage a large number of people whom I come in contact with to better themselves as much as possible. My goal is to become a hybrid motivational speaker, physical therapist, personal trainer, and business owner. I wish to make the world a better place, both physically and spiritually. My theory holds that pursuing a master's degree in business administration from Harvard Business School will enable me to accomplish my goals and reach millions worldwide.
