Military bearing is ones outward appearance. The sharp uniform, perfect haircut, and their motivation and pride in their appearance. Military bearing is the way you take pride in your accomplishments and the majority of your experiences. It is also the way you maintain your composure and contain your emotions at all times. even when some might think it is neccessary to speak ones thoughts, that is where military bearing comes into play and maintains the composure of the soldier himself. Military bearing can also be described as doing the morally right thing wether somebody is watching you or not. dependability is a major aspect of military bearing. without dependability, one can neither performproperly in a workspace, and also can not be depended on by there equals, and chain of command to carry out their military duties adequately. a military member is required to be punctual and reliable. lack of this in a soldier hinders the duty of the command, and can also be negative toward the entire Army. military bearing is a vast assortment of rules and ethics that govern our every day life. all military soldiers have an obligation to conduct themselves with dignity in such a manner to reflect credit on the military branch they are in. dignity exists only when one has the proper sense of there individual worth and of the worthiness of their cause. the person who posesses true dignity will also respect the dignity of others. when one respects his seniors and is guided by the example given to himself, it shows a true sign of propper adequate toward military bearing. he also respects his junior enlisted and provides an examle that they will be proud to follow.The United States Army is structured on several values and principles that it upholds, among these are military bearing, discipline and respect. If a soldier goes above and beyond in just about everything he or she does but is not on time and punctual than he or she has failed at carrying out his or her orders. So do what you’re told and being were you are supposed to be. Will make you, your team, and the army. A better-looking army and most of all a trusting family, you can count on. So your battle buddies can trust you in the time in war, to do and be were you are susposed to be. To save your live and most important your battle buddies live. And of course your NCOs life as well. Not doing so, can cause in some one getting hurt or worse your battle buddy’s life. I don’t know about you but I could not live the rest of my life knowing I killed my buddy. All because I was not were I was supposed to be because of some dumb ass reason. Or what ever reason it was, that you were not were you were supposed to be. But what ever you do in war, your job is important and not doing it will cause someone pain. So again I preach just do what is asked of you. And do the right thing and save a live or more. So I learned my lesson. About were I need to be and what I have to do to be a American Soldier. Learn from me. And do the right thing. Doing the right thing basically consist of following the seven army values.

Others may no incorporate this into their daily routines. Some behave and act a certain way just because they are told to do so, but once they are out of the military they may not continue that behavior. It just really depends on the person.

With the 13 year “War on Terror” ending many Soldiers that were brought up through the ranks during this time may find themselves challenged by the change in tempo and reorganization of priorities from leadership while in a garrison setting. Honor is a matter of carrying out, acting, and living the values of respect, duty, loyalty, selfless service, integrity and personal courage in everything you do.” Failure to keep up with a sensitive item violates duty because without the proper equipment you cannot perform your duties. You also let down your platoon and/ or squad by not knowing where your items are forcing them by association to fail to uphold their army value of duty as well; if you cannot do your duty then neither can your team. It violates integrity of the soldier by letting their platoon down. A soldier’s platoon counts 100% of the time on them and their ability to make sure they know where all their items are.
