Yes, i can say that i was interested and determined to get done with my high school year and go to college and continue to persuade my dream in either becoming a cosmetologist or become in the culinary fields, but that didn’t go as planned. I have chosen cosmetology as my research career. This career particularly interest me because it is something I would like to do with my life. I feel this career is filled with opportunities that can be very beneficial to me financially and emotionally. One specific goal I have in my life is to one day open my own salon.

My list starts with finishing the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at Carrington College. I completed this course in April 2012 and moved a step ahead in my professional aspirations. Earlier I used to plan and dream for my life solely, but in September 2016 I got married to the man of my dreams. Now I got a company to pursue my dream professional and personal life. In such a short age, I am the proud owner of two homes. I made a solid move by buying these materialistic assets as constant cash is flowing from one house as rent. I also successfully passed NCCPT certification to become a personal trainer and got my certification in February

There are a lot of steps in getting education and training for a career in Cosmetology. The minimum education level required for this career is postsecondary training. There is no such thing as maximum training in cosmetology because a person can keep training after receiving the credentials necessary to start a career in cosmetology. ‘Cosmetology programs generally grant certificates, diplomas or associate's degrees, rather than bachelor's degrees’ (Bachelor’s). All the education necessary is a high school diploma, cosmetology diploma, and a certificate or associate's degree program. The education needed for cosmetology can range anywhere from 9 months to 2 years. The minimal amount for this education in cosmetology is from $5,000 to $10,000. Before I graduated from high school, I devised a five year plan for myself. First, I would attend SUNY Albany to obtain a degree in business. Then, I would attend a cosmetology school, acquire the 1,000 hours needed to take my state board exams, take those exams to finally secure my cosmetology license. All of this would eventually lead to opening my own salon in the future. About a month before my graduation, an ambulance bolted my mom to the hospital.

Cosmetology is the general work on others hair and skin. The area of cosmetology I am going for is hair. I find working on other people’s hair fun and interesting. Makeup and nails are other areas of interest for me. I am going to be studying cosmetology to become licensed as an entrepreneur for hair, makeup, and helping to make the lives of others better. It is important to understand the education or training requirements, skills or training, salary and benefits offered, and the duties for a particular career when making this decision.

​Every since I was a child I have had a passion for doing other people’s hair. When I was little I would use my baby dolls as clients and work on their hair until it was perfect and neat. I have chosen to be in the cosmetology field because I like to help other people with their needs and wants as well as mine. I am aware that while working in this industry I will work with many different ethnic groups and many different hair types. I feel I can do anything as long as I have the determination to do so. Many people go to cosmetology school to work for someone else, but I would like to open up a mini-salon out of my own home someday.

Cosmetology is the “study or art in cosmetics and their use”. Cosmetology is a broad term that includes hair, make up, skin, and nails (Cosmetology Careers and Cosmetology Education Information 14 Oct. 2014). Cosmetology is not only for women, but for men and children too (What Is Cosmetology 14 Oct. 2014). Cosmetologist helps to change their customer’s physical appearance by doing their hair, nails, or giving them facials to help their skin (Education Portal 12 Oct 2014). Some cosmetologist work out of their homes or in small shops and others work in salons or spas (What Is Cosmetology 10 Oct. 2014).

A survey certified that average women spend about $13,000 on makeup in her life time. Not only that, but also spend 300 hours applying it. Beauty tends to increase the self esteem of women, they think more positive of themselves. Along with that like anything else cosmetology has revolutionized throughout the years. Cosmetology has played an important role in lives of women, it does not only represent beauty, but also self confidence.

Becoming a cosmetologist is an aspiration I have had since I was a child around eleven years old. Originally my plan was to enroll at Paul Mitchell in Tampa, Florida right after high school but, I chose to pursue an education in environmental engineering. After years of working in sales while going to school, incredibly unhappy, I chose to move to Los Angeles, California on a whim. Taking time to figure out where my life was headed and if I was truly happy. I have had the pleasure of being a model and assistant with Pulp Riot over the past three years and I came to the realization that my passion was hair and had always been that way. The career I have decided to arrange research on is a cosmetologist. Cosmetologists earn a license for several reasons. Some cosmetologists want to perform work in a certain field, such as skin care, nail treatments, makeup, or hairstyling. Others want to work with one specific job, but are required to complete a cosmetology program to fulfill the state’s requirements. Depending on their role, cosmetologists may perform several different services throughout the day. Things I would like to own: I would like to own a house in California. My dad came from California, from a city close to Los Angeles. He lived in a city right next to the Pacific Ocean. My dream cars are the Lamborghini Aventador and the Nissan GTR and the Scion FRS. I hope to own one of these cars in my lifetime. I believe that if you work hard enough in life that you can accomplish anything. This is something that has been taught in my family since I can remember. As I have said before my dream is to open a restaurant and if I am successful at it then I want to open up a chain of restaurants. I would like to have my restaurants expand to Germany and Holland where my family has originated. I still haven’t got a chance to visit these countries, but I plan to in the near future. I also plan on sending my mom and my dad back to Holland and Germany for a vacation. They haven’t been in Germany and Holland since they were teenagers. These are some of the things that I would like to own in my life.

Growing up I always use to like doing my hair, as well as my mothers and sisters hair. I began to do my own hair for school at the age of nine. About six months before I graduated high school, I participated in a fundraiser to support breast cancer /scholarship contest at Aveda Institute, which is a cosmetology school. I saw many creative and talented students at the event, it was amazing! I assumed it was a sign, so as soon as I graduated high school I registered at Aveda. I truly believed that cosmetology was what I wanted to make a career out of, because I enjoy making people feel more confident about their physical appearance. However, attending the institute emphatically demonstrated a sneak preview of what life had in store for me.

My dream job when I get older, is to have my degree in cosmetology before college. So that way I can be making my own money at that time. I will be making about an average of $26,550 per year with cosmetology. Then when I get to college I can focus on studying Nurse Midwifery, and not trying to get a job. When I get my degree for Nurse Midwifery I will be making an average $96,970 per year. Together that I would be making about $123,520 yearly.

My goal in life is to be a great friend and wife to my fiancé. An exceptional and admirable mother that teaches her children not just right and wrong, but how to be healthy, happy, successful, responsible adults who can do the same for their families. I don’t want to lose sight of who I am and the person I am meant to be in the process. All the while, enjoying every bit of life and making every moment count.
