Now I would like to inform you about about my lifelong vision and how the literacy skills that I already know and learn will help me achieve my goals. The kind of person that I would like to be is an intelligent scholar and a caring person. My lifelong vision is to be a sucessful in high school so that I can get into a good college where I can get a degree to become a veterinarian/doctor. I would like to be a doctor of some sort because the human body is very interesting to me and I like to help other people. My literacy skills will help me achieve my goal of going to college and becoming a veterinarian/doctor because when you are a doctor you have to analyze documents because if you don't you could end up hurting and possibly killing your patient. Also in order to get into college I would need to write an application letter to the college I want that would persuade the college to accept me, this is a big step to achieving my goal. Also I would have to communicate with the patient or patient owner and know how to talk to them so they
My educational goals were to get a certificate in Health Information Technology as a certified coder. But I change my mind and decided to get my associates degree because it provides me with more opportunities in the field. I can choose many different careers such as health information analyst, insurance claims analyst, records technician specialist, etc. With this degree I can improve my family financial situation and be an example to my children that if you put your mind to it, you can achieve anything.
For my educational plans, I have a clear understanding and vision of where I want to go and who I have the desire to be. I believe Indian River State is an excellent place to begin my journey and recieve my education in order to better prepair myself for what is yet to come. An experience in a biomedical research will help me to succeed in my long-term educational goals. My long-term goal is to attend a MD-PHD program at a Medical School. As a scientist, I would like to study the genetics of disease causing organisms and human genetics. Currently, I am studying Biochemistry at the University of Maryland, which I think will equip me with a knowledge of human biochemistry. However, since undergraduate schools mainly focus on theoretical not the practical application of most subjects, I need to participate in a hands on research project over the summer because It will give me an opportunity to apply my knowledge in a laboratory. This is when the summer research program at the University of Maryland school of medicine
Going to college has been a dream of mine growing up. I am the first ever in my family to go to college but figuring out how to pay for it has been a challenge. I desire to achieve my academic and career goals and this scholarship can help me succeed in my journey.
As a prospective Biology major and Veterinarian, I hope to gain experience working with plants and animals in the field of Biology and consider internships with veterinarians. I plan to put my experience and qualifications to use by applying for an accredited veterinary college. Upon acceptance, I will strive towards earning a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM). If I do not gain acceptance into a veterinary medicine program, then I will steer myself more towards the forensic science fields. A degree and certification in veterinary medicine is appealing and preferable to me. However, to keep my options open, the field of forensic science and crime scene investigations will serve as
I am Jessica Donnelly a sophomore at Wagner College. I grew up in Manalapan New Jersey with my family which included, my mother, father, older brother and younger sister. When looking at colleges to attend my senior year of high school, I had chosen Wagner as the next step in my educational career. This school was the right choice for me because of the excellent nursing program the school provided and the scholar ship money I was receiving for playing soccer. I had set many goals for myself freshman year that I had achieved. This year I have new goals that I hope to accomplish as well. One of the many goals I hope to carry out in sophomore year is to continue working hard and keeping my grade point average above a 3.5. With keeping an average of a 3.5 or above I will be able to get in to the Nursing Program that Wagner has to offer. When applying for the Nursing Program I must not only have an acceptable grade point average but I must be able to pass a nursing test. Another goal for this semester, other than my academic performance, is my performance on the soccer
A long term educational goal for me was going back to school after 4 years and a second child. I kept putting it off for months and months .I was extremely intimidated due to the fact that I had two kids to support and; I would only be able to work part time. Finally I had to drive to greenwood to see the dermatologist and I said that would be the day I go to Kaplan. To make sure I reached my goal I started by cutting down my work hours and keeping in touch with my advisor. My goals were achieved after a month and I was proud it made me feel like I could achieve anything as long as I put my mind to it.
My academic goal is to graduate Argosy University with a bachelors degree in Forensic Psychology in three years time. Forensic Psychology is the study of the criminal mind, in a nutshell. The main motivation to achieve this goal would be intrinsic. I love asking questions and knowing the answers as to why people do what they do, and in a criminals case, what led them to committing the crime. This goal, however, may have some extrinsic motivation as well. Being knowledgeable about certain behaviors that criminals poses may help solve or even prevent a crime. In addition, having a degree will help open different paths in life, ones that may present me with greater job opportunities. My attitude toward the learning process will help my achievement of each goal because I am eager, determined and motivated. My greatest desire is to succeed in life, and obtaining an education is one thing I know will help me. I perhaps will need to make some adjustments along my journey. I do not know yet if I will find another educational path that intrigues me the most. For now, I do not feel that any adjustments need to be made.
Everything I learn will benefit me in the future. Knowing when to graduate will allow me to be a step closer to my long term educational goal. I do want to be successful in life and school is helping me towards that. At the skill shop the lady mention seeing your adviser from time to time to make sure you are ready to graduate. That is one thing that will help because that’ll allow me to know how much further I’ll have to go in order to earn my degree. Meeting your adviser also tie into knowing the path you have choosing is good and the way you are doing it, is efficient.
I am originally from Shreveport Louisiana, my family moved to Texas in my late teens and lived in Longview until enlisting into the United States Marine Corps as a Flight Mechanic on the KC-130T. I have chosen to pursue a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Management from Franklin University. I decided on this degree as I have spent the past seventeen years creating a career in the I.T industry, for one of the largest financial institutions in the world, and feel that this would present me with more opportunities for growth. I believe I have the technology knowledge and experience now, and I want to show that I have the leadership and management skills that will take me to the next level. This will also, hopefully, lead to promotions and more influence within my department, as well as the financial benefits that accompany them. My wife returned to school as an adult learner when she was 26 and obtained her
As a six-year veteran of the US Army, I have taught and instructed people from multi-cultural backgrounds, vastly different education levels, and without regard to age all while traversing language barriers, cultural, and social norms, with great success. In my pursuit to continuously better myself, I have dedicated my educational goals to understanding what motivates people in the dynamic environments they find themselves. As well, my graduate thesis, titled “The Ethical Choice: Who Should Decide the Fate of Youth Sexual Assault Victims Who Become Pregnant?” gave me an impeccable foundation in quantitative and qualitative research methods.
From the time I was able to realize what college was, all my mother and father talked about was scholarships and how much they would benefit me. My mother would often sign me up for SAT and ACT prep classes, but I never truly took full advantage of it. As I grew older the word “Scholarship” had a greater meaning. A scholarship would mean me getting to go to the college of my dreams, being surrounded by people with the same goals as me, it also means being able to lift a burden off my parent’s shoulders.
Being able to achieve a goal is an amazing feeling. Achieving a goal feels like you are on top of the world, like nothing can touch you. However, with most goals there is a challenging road ahead to reaching the goal. For example, education goals are very important, these types of goals can keep a person on track. I like to set a academic goal every year, for instance, maintaining a certain GPA through the entire year. For others it maybe turning in all assignments, or being on time to every class. These are examples of small education goals. My big education goal is to go to college, because I know by going to college I can have a better opportunity for a great future. Getting the best possible knowledge of the world is very important to me.
Life is about choices. Some we Regret, some we're proud of. Some will haunt us forever. The message: we are what we chose to be. Graham Brown. My journey into the program is very interesting and also, fun. In the past I was in the call to adventure and meeting the mentor stage of my journey, in the present moment I am in the approach stage of my journey and moving on to the future, I will probably be in the road back or the resurrection stage of this special journey of mine.
