I would like to say that I write for pleasure, or that the process of writing can clear my thoughts as I put them down on paper; however, most of the time they become jumbled up instead. I write for a grade, an assignment that has to be done for school. I almost never enjoy it, but I know it has to be done. I write when I have to, it is something that as humans we can never stop doing. It is persuasion, information, communication, entertainment, and so much more. To many people writing allows them to share and expand their thoughts, but for myself I feel as though it limits what I could say. Every time I write an essay it takes me twice as long as it should because there are a million different thoughts racing through my mind. I think about
Writing makes me feel free from my mind and put all my thoughts and feelings into it. It feels calm and soothing when you write. I remember when I was little we always had to write our stories in cursive which always helped me to remember things like my vocabulary. I want to improve on my grammars and my words in the future ahead of me, which will take me to the higher roads of writing. I can say what I want to say and express myself without the fear of being judged. Those who'd judge my writing have no right to read it. I write to perforate my emotion and escape the cruel. Writing is my art form, and I will do it whether it is appreciated by others or not. Writing is a therapy for me to keep us writers alive and communicate and share each
However, most of the time I will despise writing and try to avoid it as much as possible. The reason I do not like writing is, because I frequently have so much to say and I cannot grasp a way to organize everything. When I write for enjoyment I will mainly write about the thoughts in my head and nonchalantly caring if it makes sense or not. It’s like the difference between a doodle and a drawing. A doodle is just a “whatever” picture. It is just randomly drawn and it won’t matter if the lines are straight or not. In a drawing everything has to be perfect and neat. I enjoy to “doodle” write and just write my thoughts out about anything, I am afraid to publicly say. I’ve been taught to write by having teachers just tell me what they want me to write. The part about me learning to write I kind of have taught myself using some of the knowledge that previous teachers have given me. Not only, but I also, face several challenges as a writer like the lack of creativity and writing descriptively. When I write, I like to just state my point or main idea, but I struggle with describing it in depth and explaining my main idea as specific as possible. Some writers make a drama and explain everything so clearly and their emotions, however I am not that type of
Writing is an essential part of everyday life. Although not everyone shares that same passion for it, there are many reasons as to why we write. In the textbook (The St. Martin's Concise Guide To Writing) we are given the following reasons as to why we write; write to communicate, write to think, write to learn, write to succeed, and write to know yourself and connect to other people. These examples that we are given are pretty straight forward and self explanatory. Not only are you communicating to others, but you are also communicating to yourself through pen and paper. Letting those ideas out in the open helps you think more critically of things that might run through your mind. Writing also helps you understand situations you might be in
Writing has never been a real interest of mine. The only time I had to write any of my thoughts on paper was in school. I believed that one had to have that special trait or gift in them that made them a good writer, just like athletes are gifted in their sport. After reading the articles by Pat Mora and the other one from George Orwell, there can be many reasons as to why anyone would like to write.
Writing makes me feel like I am talking to someone that is always listening. Getting to write down my thoughts is like talking to my future self. For example, I do like writing journal entries because I can go back and read it later in life. Just one short paragraph can explain how I felt at that time and what was going on. It also shows your improvement. Going back and looking at my old writings give me a pretty good idea of how much better I have gotten at
Writing is a mostly straightforward method I use to express my thoughts and ideas. There truly is a great deal of power in being able to eloquently transfer one’s feelings into words, and that is what I love so dearly about it. It is something I feel so passionately about that it is even my current job, and every day at the Writing Center at my school, I am given the opportunity to help fellow students learn how to express their thoughts in words. It gives me great pride to be able to share my knowledge to others and help them become more comfortable and confident with their own abilities. As for myself, I enjoy writing for both school assignments and for personal reasons, and in writing, I feel that I am able to effectively communicate whatever necessary to my audience. Furthermore, the response that I garner for my writings is typically positive. However, the constructive criticism I do receive is precious to me as well. Though it can sting sometimes, it offers me the knowledge to improve my writings, and without it, my writings would certainly become
Writing is the tool I use to process my emotions and convey my feelings to others. Creative and freestyle forms of writing are what I enjoy. Writing has been a part of my journey for many years. I write a lot. I write often. Since I share some of my writings publicly on social media, I am regularly complimented on my writing. Some people go as far as to ask me to write a blog or even a book. Writing allows me to face fears, conquer trials, and learn more about myself and others.
1. I've never considered myself much of a writer. I'm expecting that we will be writing often in this course so, one of the goals I'm hoping achieve from English106 is to become more accustomed to writing. Once this is accomplished, it will easily allow me to make further improvements on my writing abilities. My second goal is to become an active reader. Active reading will allow me to pick up an in dept perspective and pose unique questions on the novel. My third goal is to improve on my analysis skills. I often find myself incapable to analyzing a piece of literature to a deeper level. Hopefully discussions during conferences will me to come up with a deeper analysis of passages.
Writing for me is a way of expression. It is way of letting go, without anyone having to know your thoughts. I believe writing is more interesting when you are doing it without being forced. Writing can be used in many different areas of life whether it is in school, work, or even at home. We are always writing, even when we don’t think we are. Writing can help you be successful in life, it is a very important qualification on a resume. No place of employment wants to hire a person who is unable to write. Businesses need to have people who can put their ideas on paper.
Writing allows me the opportunity to see things in a different light, a new perspective if you will. The more I write the more I become aware of the
When I write for pleasure, the words seem to come naturally and easily…my thoughts and ideas are more focused and generally in logical sequence. When I am faced with the task of writing within given parameters, about a subject that has been dictated and not of my own choosing, writing becomes an unwelcome chore. Reflecting on this problem, I have concluded that there are a number of reasons for my difficulty.
My experiences in writing have been minimal. I have only learned the basics of writing, like putting together sentences, forming paragraphs with sentences, and things like that. Since I have been taking college English, I can tell my writing has improved a lot. In the future, I hope to be able to improve tremendously at writing essays, paragraphs, research papers, documents, and stories so that I have very little to no errors with drafting and final products. I predict I will be a well rounded writer when I graduate from college.
In my opinion, writing is defined as fun, a way to be creative and a way to help me clear my mind. It allows me to express my own individuality. Writing may be known as a bore to others who cant seem to find their own writing style, but if you have that "gift" of writing it comes easy no matter what subject or topic. That 's where my liking for writing comes in. I 've always been able to take a topic and write about it without any problems. Once my brain gets going, its hard to stop.
Writing helped me understand the ideas that were swirling around in my head and gave them substance. I often use writing to settle the rage within myself no matter the topic I always stay true to writing with internal purpose. Writing something down on paper is much easier for me, it’s as though my hand leads my thoughts. It’s wonderful to escape, and through writing, I get that feeling. If it were not for me taking speech and being given the assignment to write about something that affected my life, I would have never found my passion for writing.
Writing is often considered as therapy and a way to express your desires and feelings. It helps to confess things which cannot be easily expressed through speaking. A person can simply pen-up his thoughts and relax. When you write something it becomes more efficient than in your head.
