The Germans only gave us a four days notice to pack and get ready to leave our home, maybe forever. I get done packing and I take one more look around at room before I leave. I see my bed all made, my bookshelf with all of the books I’ve loved throughout my life. I open up my backpack to see what I packed. I see 8 outfits of clothes, my birth certificate, many other important legal documents, and my 3 favorite books. I go to my living room and see my parent’s suitcases open. They brought the same things that I did, cloths, books, and important legal documents. About an hour after we had all of our belongings packed we …show more content…
We hold each other while we wait to be escorted from our home. It took eleven minutes from the time the first house was evacuated for a soldier to knock on our door. When my father opened the door he was greeted by a 6’4’’ German soldier. The man was surprisingly nice he told us to grab the bags we packed an line up outside next to the 5th train car. As we walked out of our home we were not sure if we would see it again. We then walked to the line we saw our friends and neighbors in our line and the lines next to us. After standing in line for 45 mins longer our whole block was in 10 lines waiting to be put in train cars. A German officer opened the car that my family and I had to enter. We got in one by one and by the end of it there was 45 of us in a 6 by 8 train car. The ride took three days and each family was given one ration of bread and butter for breakfast. Then for lunch each family was given on slice of ham per person with a roll. By the last day of the car ride it stenched of sweat and body odor. The smell got so bad by the last hour we were in the train I fainted. I came to as we got to the Ghetto. We were unloaded one by one. When we were all off of the train we were put in groups family
with a lot of puppys. All of my sisters and I walked over to the pen.

The next day I hung around the house waiting for my parents to finish the paperwork. I’ll spare you the details of the move in process because it was boring and stressful.
Everyone was calling and checking in on us. My mom was trying to clean up a little bit.
We finally arrived, the house is extraordinary. It’s huge, the rooms are so nice and the outside is all decorated with gorgeous flowers and trees. I already like this place. I ran around the house looking for the perfect room and I finally found it. It was a really light lilac color and there was a huge bed in the corner. There was even a balcony. I walked around the house for a bit and then I told my mom that I was going to walk around the
We went to my aunt’s house, but when we got there it was dark so we unpacked and went and found our rooms and went to bed which my bed was my cousin’s bed because she moved out.
I climb in and take a deep breath. It feels nice to be back. I’m so happy to be reunited with old friends and hope there is more in store. We ride off towards Kyle’s house, the windows down and us all reminiscing in old memories. I breathe in the fresh air of outside. I feel like I’m on top of the
I opened the door of the gas station, the bells on the door ringing to announce my entrance. I smiled to myself and picked up a basket from beside the door.
