Personal Narrative My Life Essay

Getting into the swing of becoming an adult may seem like the end of the world. It’s stressful, confusing, scary, and overall very difficult. For me at least. You think that it might be the end of the world for you, but nothing is worse than losing yourself in the process of all of that. You feel lost and frustrated because you don’t know who you are and what you want to do. That is what happened to me. Throughout high school, mainly my last two years, I felt lost, I didn’t know who I was. Graduation came and my graduation present was a plane ticket to Virginia for a week to meet a friend. Going to Virginia and meeting Megan has shown me who I am and what I want to do.

This semester was an exciting semester because we were given the opportunity to work with students from Hopewell Valley High School. The field experience was eye opening and I learned so much from this experience. This experience has impacted me personally and professionally is so many ways. From this experience I learned that no matter what you have planned, you would always have to change your plan to meet the needs of your students. The one day we were doing the scavenger hunt, my group had to change their plans because one of our students could not walk all the way to the pool. Instead we had to improvise and take him to another area. A lot of the time, time is not on our side and we plan so much and are not able to get to all the activities planned. I also learned that we were able to have so much fun with such simple ideas. My favorite experience was seeing all of the smiles on everyone’s faces when we were doing activities.

When I thought about my future and where I 'll be going, I thought I would be attending a university like all of my friends in high-school. I never thought I would be attending a community college. I really hated the idea of community college. I thought it was for people who had low ACT score or people who didn 't really try as hard as others in school. I always tried hard in school even when things got hard I still tried my best. I never thought it would be for me until I saw the benefits of attending a community college. I attend a two year college because I felt like I had a better opportunity to talk to my professor , also to better myself improving my knowledge by stepping out of my comfort zone.

“Beep beep beep” My alarm sounds startling me. I reach for my phone to turn off this horrid noise. It takes all my willpower to not press snooze and just roll over. Then I remember that I am going to Florida today. I excitedly jump out of bed and start to get ready. I step onto the cold tile flooring of my bathroom. I reach the toothpaste and the minty flavor soon fills my mouth, leaving me fresh breath. Next I head into my room to change out of my pajamas.

I have reddish-brown wavy hair, I am 5’4”, and I weigh 127 pounds. I see myself as the comedian of my friend group. I am shy around people I am not very close with, but once I get to know someone, they can never get me to shut up. I believe others see me as hilarious, smart, caring, and fun to be around. In my free time, I hang out with friends, watch hockey, go shopping, sleep, and watch Netflix. My three best friends are Abby Quirin, Morgan Jetton, and Hunter Ross. Unfortunately, I constantly think about what my peers will think of me before I make my decisions. Although, my friends usually help me make wise decisions and give me the confidence to do what is right. My favorite things to eat are pizza, salad, spaghetti, watermelon, and chocolate.

From this club I’ve learned people assemble and assisting each other on a project, can be very refreshing. Our club works together, getting certain things accomplished. However; all of us learn the same thing at the same time. I’ve also learned you don’t have to be rewarded for every good thing you do in life, sometimes the most rewarding things are just doing it in the first place. And I participating in theaters and know that I am a helpful person when it comes to helping people remembering their lines. And also I worked at the church café and learned my leadership skills there as well I have also applied it everywhere I go.

Nevertheless, even with knowing my goals I still played around with school, not realizing the effect it would have on me in the long run. It was not so much I did not care I just procrastinated with assignments, projects, and homework. Although, anytime a social event was going on I was there supporting the organization that spear headed the occasion. There were many organizations from FBLA, Honor Society, Year book, and many more. Upon all the organizations there was one that stood out from the rest

This is my third day in Greece, it is 8:30 am. I had barely woken up in my hotel room since it was still morning I hurried out of the hotel to eat breakfast. With my bus ticket, I set off to a restaurant named Flavour Business Resto Cafe. I decided to order 2 egg eyes, three slices of bacon, rustic sausage, toast ham-cheese, pure orange juice, and coffee. All together my breakfast cost me $7. 50, once I received my breakfast, I sat at a nearby table and began to eat it. Likewise, it taught me discipline and responsibility for their academics on subjects like math and reading. To add on, I convinced, orchestrated, and aided my teachers and students to cleaning environments within school and at other diverse spots. Also, along with my devotion to the fine arts programs, I collaborated with a retired orchestra teacher to reassemble concerts that were nonexistent after my freshman year. Not only that, my participation in the drama club brought satisfaction and it allowed me to be part of something vast and exhilarating. Devastation—it’s a word that can be defined in multiple ways. In my perspective it’s a heart-rending event that results in an overwhelming shock. At what age would an individual be able to handle devastating news? Everyone has their own opinion on that. Personally , I would say that fourteen and up is where individuals are most adept to handling difficult news. Yet, there’s still the lingering question as to “how can a young child handle devastating news; how does he or she cope with tragedies at such a young, fragile age?” Well, I learned the answer to this question firsthand, when an unexpected tragedy occurred—changing my life forever.

The egg hissed as it glided across the frying pan. The oozing whites grew opaque, fluffed up, and sizzled near the pan’s edge. Otherwise the house was surrounded with a disconcerting silence. I drummed my fingers impatiently on the kitchen counter. I glanced at the clock again. 9:00 Am. I sighed. Only an hour had passed since I rolled out of bed, and I was already struggling with this seemingly easy English assignment. Initially I had scoffed at the idea of becoming unplugged when it was introduced in class; I perceived it to be effortless. However, with 23 hours remaining I realized that abstaining from technology was far more challenging than I had anticipated.

Due to life, every person goes through something or have some experience that leads to them having a downfall in their life where they back are up against the wall and they can’t find their way out of the situation. So, some people end up killing themselves, acting out, or maybe even seeking God. With me saying this I will like to share my personal narrative and what caused me to have a downfall and how did I redeem myself from every situation.

It’s ten o'clock pm, and i’m on a plane to illinois to start a new life. My old life was horrible, and that’s why I decided to move into a new state, to meet new people, and friends. “Just thirty more minutes till the plane lands.” I said to myself. The person sitting next to me was talking on their phone when they suddenly hung up, and I noticed they were on the verge of crying. “What’s wrong?” I asked them. “I just found out my sister in law was murdered two days ago.” “Did they find the body? Or the killer?” I asked while trying to sound interested. “No, they don’t know who or what killed her, and they couldn’t find the body.” After a few minutes of awkwardly trying to comfort a stranger I noticed that the plane was about to land.
