The vast majority of people in the United States support the rights of woman and men alike. This right makes them free to pursue dreams of happiness and freedom, to do as they choose as long as it does not infringe on the rights of other “humans.” That is honestly the root of the issue with abortion in this country; we firmly believe in the rights of humans, but we treat a fetus as if it was none human. Science has proven through deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) that an unborn baby is indeed human, so if it is human then the only remaining question would be, “When is the fetus alive?” To find the answer, one must first start with the end in mind. This proposal will do just that, start at the end to explain the beginning and through a small amount of compromise, the abortion controversy will be solved with a common sense and responsible approach.

1 out of every 6 women in America has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. Reports conclude that 5% of these victims become pregnant, and that’s in America alone. To make matters worse, most of these women cannot afford an abortion and have to live with a constant reminder of the horrible things they’ve been through. The human race is in a constant search for the answers of life. The topic of abortion is a very controversial subject in today’s society. It is a mother’s fundamental right to have the option to abort. If society outlaws this right, society is interfering with a mother’s decision pertaining to her own body. A full grown woman feeling comfortable with herself and body is more important than an unborn fetus’s right to life. Abortion will continue to be an issue because every person possesses different morals. Making abortion legal across the country would stress the importance of women's rights, which so many have fought to receive, and would also prevent young teens or rape victim from ruining their lives. Clearly, there are many valid opinions for this issue which is why no one can simply deny the effect of the impact this decision will have on our society.

Do women have the right to choose what she does with her body? When it comes to pregnancy, some women feel as if they shouldn’t keep their baby. Many women face criticism when making the decision to abort their baby because some people don’t support women getting abortions. Although some people believe getting abortions are morally wrong, make a bad situation worse, and have many health risks, for some, getting an abortion is necessary because of lack of money, the age of the mother, how the child was conceived and the health of the mother.

A woman is “officially” pregnant when the sperm has entered the egg and been implanted in the uterus, forming a zygote. At week nine, the embryo has formed eyes, and at week ten the embryo has officially become a fetus due to the full development of all of the vital organs and they begin to function (Baby Center… 2016). The eleventh week is when the fetus is almost fully developed (Baby Center… 2016). Finally, in week twelve, a woman can hear her baby’s heartbeat at a prenatal check-up. It is typically during weeks eight to twelve when a woman chooses to get an abortion (Planned Parenthood… 2017).

Abortion is murder to an innocent baby and I think it should be illegal. They don’t have an opportunity to choose life or death, its chosen for them. There are two types of abortion one known as a “miscarriage” and that doesn’t take a medical procedure or you have artificially induced abortion where you murder the baby. I do not believe in artificially induced abortion and I would never have one. If you don’t believe in abortion or are against it you should not have one. The baby might still be in your body but its a baby, its alive and it can feel the same pain that we feel as humans. For me being a teen I couldn’t imagine saying I was going to have an abortion. Killing a baby as a teen I think would be even harder than if I was older. If I killed a baby that has done absolutely nothing and had no chance of getting to see the earth or the future it holds would honestly make me very depressed. On the other hand if you don’t want the baby I guess there is a case where you should have an abortion if you’re not going to take care of it or give it the attention that it needs. There is always the answer of putting the baby up for adoption after you have it.

When a woman gives birth, they are choosing to take the many unbelievable and unpredictable paths in their future, but if they choose to end the life inside, they only reveal a brief and quicker path to a broken life. It should be assumed that women who choose to have an abortion do it for the right reasons, and are not deciding to have an abortion just because they can. However not all women choose to have an abortion for the right reason, but ultimately it is their decision. Everyone should be allowed to choose what they want to do with their bodies. The women who have abortions for the wrong reasons such as spite, should not influence the overall decision of if women should be allowed to have an abortion. But just because one woman has an abortion for the wrong reason does not mean all women will, which is why there should be no regulations since every circumstance varies.
