Persuasive Speech Outline The Importance of Recycling Title: Recycling General Purpose: To Persuade the audience Specific Purpose: To persuade my audience to recycle materials for saving the Earth. Central Idea: You should recycle materials because it can help the Earth save i. Introduction (Attention) A. Attention getter – How many people read a paper on a daily bases? How many people throw it in the trash when they are done? How many people drink some sort of bottled drink throughout the day? How many of those people throw it in the trash when they are done? B. D. Global warming. Global warming is caused by several things. One of these is the release of carbon dioxide into the greenhouse gases in the atmosphere by using energy generated from burning fossil fuels. Transition: Now that I have discussed problem occur when we not recycling and, let’s go on to the solution we can do. It is recycling iii. Satisfaction (Solution) You should know what types of materials can be recycled and how can do recycling for practice to save the Earth. A. Help our environment with 3R concept Reduce, reuse and recycle B .How we can recycling. Use recycling bin. Malaysia has provided three types of recycling bin. First is blue color used for paper. Second is brown color used for glass. Third is orange color used for aluminum and plastic. Send waste item to collection centers. http://www.computercycle.com.my/ (website to recycle computer item) Transition: Now that I have talked about the recycling, let’s move to the visualization part. iv. (Visualization) You could visualize benefits of recycling and example of recyclable item. A. There is lots of benefits we can get from recycle: Recycling Saves Energy Recycling Reduces Greenhouse Gas Emissions Recycling Reduces Air and Water Pollution Recycling Creates Jobs Recycling preserves our resources and protects wildlife B. Example of recyclable item are: From tries to seat From aluminum tin to pencil rack From
V. Preview- Today I'll be convincing you to recycle by informing you the ways recycling can help reduce pollution, easy ways you can recycle, and how the world is with/without
Overall, the main idea of this essay was to help persuade more people to recycle. So let's get out there and make the world a cleaner and healthier place by
Thesis: Throughout my speech, I want to persuade everyone to start recycling. It is important as it helps reduces the amount of pollution.
During the 1900s, Americans realized the amount of waste they produce and the damage that comes along with it. Average people see recycling as a simple process. Placing items such as glass, plastics, aluminum, and paper on their curb or dropping them off at recycling centers takes part of their weekly routine. However, many lack knowledge as to what happens to their products after this step. Intricate, but crucial, recycling helps improve our environment.
The waste problem in our world has become atrocious. As explained in “A Dirty Dilema” by Zada Lipman, waste from factories is being dumped in rivers, lakes, and open areas with no one around it. In “The Truth About Recycling” written by Leo Hickman, it explains how waste is being checked for quality and how people are losing confidence about recycling. For my last article, "Recycling Rare-Earth-Metal Waste Using Hydrometallurgical Methods." by E. G. Polyakov and A. S. Sibilev, they explain how metals can be recycled for better use or better storage. Our environment is slowly being destroyed because of how we get rid of waste, but we are able to fix this problem.
Since the 1900s, Americans realized the amount of waste they produce and the damage which comes along with it. Recycling is seen as a simple process to the average person. Recycling is an important way to help us achieve sustainable development. We can recycle many resources, including:
Recycling can be one of the best solution because it saves landfill space, improves water and
In today's world of waste, litter and greed people forget about the need to recycle. The damage that humans have caused on the earth in many different ways has caused huge negative impacts and it now turning around to harm us as well. All of the damage caused has made Mother Nature angry, has made her react to our waste less and careless behavior. She is causing earthquakes, hurricanes, tsunamis and many other natural disasters in response to all of the damage we have committed against her beautiful earth. It's a shame because she is trying to get through to us and trying to show us the importance of turning our actions around and treating her better, but some people just don't seem to get it. What everyone around the world needs to do is start changing the way they think about the world. While it is often believed that nothing bad will ever really happen as a result of carelessness and waste, it is now very clear that this is just not the case. The waste has caused damaged and destroyed rainforests, natural life, global warming, shortages in water,
What happens after someone throws their water bottle into the recycling bin? Or what about when they toss out their newspaper? With recycling, anyone can reduce waste and in turn help the environment. Recycling has many economic and environmental advantages; therefore, its use must undergo exponential growth.
Humans are drawn towards what is morally good. Whether it is accepting responsibility for a person’s actions or giving generously to those in need, everyone feels compelled to do honorable actions. Many people feel obligated to recycle because recycling makes them feel good about themselves. In fact, some people are pushing for a mandatory recycling policy without realizing the effects it will have. Many are misinformed and do not realize the problems that can arise when they recycle. A mandatory recycling policy should not be enforced because the disadvantages outweigh the advantages.
We know that nowadays plastic is the one materials that widely used by human in all of the country. Most of our goods become from plastic. The bad news is, plastics wastes that come from our unusable goods end up in the oceans. There are 60% to 80% plastic wastes on the sea are coming from the land and it will cause a big problem to 267 sea species in this world (Moore, Lattin, & Zellers). That one example is more than enough to start recycling our plastic waste. We can start from reduce and reuse first. For reduce example: when we buy something, we should prepare our own bag to put the goods we buy, dispose the waste according to the bin that specially provided for plastic, use a refill bottle for our drink bottle, and prefer a paper bag than plastic bag. How about reuse plastic bag? Some of countries have creative company that selling fine art and use plastic waste as the basic materials. One of the countries that have company like that is Indonesia. Indonesia has a lot of home industry that use plastic waste as their main materials. They make new thing from plastic bottle, such as plastic flower art, windmill toys for children, table lamp, and house accessories. Some schools in Indonesia teach the students how to reuse the plastic waste and make a fine art from it. Reduce and reuse the plastic waste already counted as recycling the plastic waste. Never think
The act of recycling is actually quite ironic. Trash is thrown into recycling bins then hauled off to factories where it is separated into different categories depending on it’s physical make up. First off, the giant trash truck picking up the materials is setting off carbon dioxide. Second, once the materials have arrived at the factory, even more carbon dioxide pollutes the air from the fumes set off by melting plastics and other materials. Recycling was invented to make the world a better place and save the environment. Instead, it is doing the exact opposite. Recycling is overrated. It’s another excuse to use mass quantities of plastic and paper. Without the world’s will power to effectively recycle, it is impossible to execute successful recycling that actually makes a difference.
We should all be living in a clean world and that is why a large part of the society recycles.
We, humans, are producing waste every day, polluting and destroying our planet. To save the world, many people believe recycling is the obvious solution. It is the process of converting certain waste into a reusable material. Therefore, the recycle motto is “Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle”. However, have you ever wondered why the word recycle is placed at the end? Well, it’s because it is not the only way to reduce waste and save the world from global warming. Recycling may have many advantages, but its disadvantages’ list is not a short one either. Recycling may look very simple and easy method, but when there is a need for a new unit of waste recycling, it takes up a lot of space. Not to mention the amount of money the building costs along with paying the staffs, buying new utility vehicles, upgrading the recycling unit and different types of chemical disposals. It is not only expensive but also, unhygienic, unsafe and unsightly with piles of waste materials on every location. These wastes spread infectious diseases putting human health at risk. Aside from recycling
