When I graduate high school and eventually college, I want to become a preschool teacher. ”Around here, we don’t look backwards for very long. We keep moving forward, opening up new doors and doing new things because we’re curious, and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths.” This quote was said by Walt Disney. I want to teach the children to be curious about everything, help introduce them to the world, and to be an important part in every kid’s life. I love working with little children and I want to help them along a little bit in their lives. Nelson Mandela once said, “Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world.” I can change the world and every young child's life that I come in contact with. I can shape …show more content…

I love working with young children, and I spend a part of my summer teaching children how to float, swim, and dive into the water. I am good at teaching and working with children, which is why I think this job is the right one for me. It is important for there to be preschool teachers because we need to teach the young so they can grow up and also become an important part of society. These three to five year old kids, or maybe even younger, may grow up to become one of the next presidents, lawyers, astronauts, or maybe even something as simple as a preschool teacher or any type of teacher. The children of now become our tomorrow’s future. “Teachers plant the seeds of knowledge that last a lifetime” by
As a human being, each person has their own beliefs, values, and ideas that have been developed throughout the course of their life. A person’s beliefs and values are developed by family, friends, their community and experiences who have contributed to who they are. When I started constructing my Child Development Associate, my personal philosophy about early childhood education was vague despite all the experience I have accumulated over the years. I had never really sat down and put much thought into my own philosophy. During this process of gathering information about the thirteen functional areas, learning all the information that entailed with each competency statement, as well as collecting resource information, I was able to develop
Preschool teachers have not been given the credit they deserve, with lots of people over looking their importance. Being a preschool teacher is more than just watching a couple of kids for a couple of hours. This field requires a lot preparation and behind the scene work that put into the job, so it really is not as easy as it may seem. Preschool could possibly shape the rest of their academic lives. At this level of school the children learn their basic building blocks for learning that they will use forever. That leaves parents with big expectations for the teacher. And for the teacher, they will have to set goals, have a plan to reach those goals, and for the most part
As children we have many goals and dreams. Eventually, the time comes when we have to make a career decision based on our interests and goals. The choices that we make now will have a lasting effect on our lives. Like most college students I have explored many career options, but I am always lead back to the education field. Teachers have a very difficult job because they have the power to shape and inspire our future nation. Although that can be an intimidating and often scary thought, it also gives me inspiration to move ahead in pursuing my goal of becoming a teacher. I have always had a passion for children. There is nothing like watching a child grow and watching their
Preschool teachers usually instruct children usually until they reach the age of five. They conduct activities designed to develop social, physical, and intellectual skills needed for primary school. During an interview I was told many things on the subject. “You need a lot of patience” said Esther Rodriguez a preschool teacher. There
Becoming a preschool teacher has been a goal of mine ever since I discovered my passion for teaching young children. The person I chose to interview for this assignment was my best friends’ sister, Karla Rodriguez. Miss. Rodriguez was involved in a program during her high school years that was made for aspiring teachers. With her many years of experience in a classroom setting and more than one hundred hours of interning at an elementary school, she has become a preschool teacher who dedicates herself to instilling the first basic foundations for many children who will eventually go on to college and create a life of their own. My main goal in life is to get a job that will help me grow as a person professionally. I want to enjoy doing what I do and not feel as if I am going to work every day. I want to be a preschool teacher because I know I have the dedication to offer students a good education and I also have a love for children. In addition, I will make a good living from the career while also doing something that I love.
Preschool teachers need to understand the children that are in their care, forming relationships with each child, help them to form respectful relationships with other children and adults, and to make sure that everyone feels included in the classroom. Teachers must try to create a community within the classroom. They also must show the children how diverse the community is around them.
After 30 plus years working in the Early Childhood Educating field, I have a wide variety of experience and education that I can share with my students. I started my journey in Early Childhood Education as a ROP student and then worked my way to becoming a private preschool teacher and site director of an after school program. I eventually helped open and start my own state preschool as a teacher and director. I am currently learning the management side of Early Childhood Education as I am a Regional Manager of the Head Start Programs.
How do children’s experiences and natural abilities impact their performance in school, and how should this influence teacher’s philosophy of education?
I believe that education is a unique experience for every student who enters a classroom. In order for children to benefit from what schools offer, I think that teachers must fully understand the importance of their job. As an early child educator I am preparing children for the world of learning. We are shaping the minds of our future. In order to have a high quality classroom I must provide a safe and nurturing environment which promotes physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
In the eleven weeks of preschool, I have learned several things. The first lesson I learned was how important it is to give effort in everything I do. I found that, especially during observations, constant effort resulted in more learning. This taught me that more effort results in more gratification. I also learned how much assertiveness and independence children gain from when they are three to when they are six. During this class, I would always find myself comparing the preschoolers to the children I worked with over the summer. The amount of physical, emotional, social, and intellectual growth they go through makes such a difference. Something that makes one group content can have the opposite effect on the other. Being exposed to two
Through my experience working with kids and my courses at Austin Community College and Concordia University I’ve established a philosophy of education that I plan to use in my future classroom. Being entrusted with shaping young minds, but also sculpting these children and lighting their way is a huge responsibility that I intend to take the utmost care with. Diving feet head first into teaching and letting it consume me, I plan to fall in love daily with my students and the profession that I feel god has called me to do. Teaching will forever be my calling and my plan is use everything that I have learned so far and continue to learn to help my students become the person that God wants them to be.
When I started learning about early childhood education, and hearing about the controversy of two different philosophies play-based and academic-based, and which philosophy is necessary in preschools for children to develop and learn effectively. I started to think from a parent's point of view about which learning approach, I thought would be best for my son to learn and develop effectively. However, this is where I was not taking all factors into consideration. As I began to do my research and learn more about the two philosophies, I found out that it's not about which philosophy is more important over the other. In fact, parents, educators
Furthermore, my reason for pursuing an Early Childhood Education is built on the understanding that young children crave stimulation and positive reinforcement. Bringing my philosophy as an early childhood education teacher to incorporate learning in a fun yet educative way. I would keep the interests of the child ahead of everything else; this is what I hope for all in all aspects of my career in early childhood
My observation of a private preschool taught me that teaching kids appropriately is essential to a child’s development. Being a teacher is a very important position in society. A preschool teacher has a responsibility to teach young kids to become adults that will be this society's future. It is important to have proper emotional support within a classroom to develop good relationship between children and teachers, and create a fun learning experience. Teachers need to understand what is developmentally appropriate to educate their students in a way that they will flourish cognitively, emotionally, and socially. On October 30th, I had the chance to analyze a KinderCare in Rocklin. In that observation I learned what a private preschool classrooms quality looks like compared to a public preschools quality.
The basic idea of a preschool teacher, is to introduce the kids to school and teach the basics (ABC´s 123's etc.) Preschool teachers, should help develop good habits and help build daily life schedules for the students (snack time, nap time, manners etc.) But to make the learning easier for the students, it has to be taught in a creative way. For instance, ¨Young children learn from playing, problem solving, questioning, and experimenting. Preschool teachers use play and
