Pure capitalism is a free enterprise or private enterprise an economic system based on the private ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange. Pure Capitalism has never existed but the closest thing to pure capitalism is a mixed economy.

A free enterprise system provides all individuals with the opportunity to create their own economic decisions, with little restrictions or involvement from the government. This system allows the supply and demand of consumers to determine the success or failure of a business or capitalist endeavor. Because of this, some businesses become successful, while others fail. The free enterprise system helped Steve Jobs make personal computing much more user-friendly and create a known brand with strong customer and product loyalty.

The United States government is certainly better than totalitarian and authoritarian governments, and can be rated as one of the top countries for protecting individual rights and ensuring citizen political participation. The United States is a constitutional government so the individual liberties of the people are protected, and the government can not have complete control over everything because they too are confined by laws. This is unlike totalitarian governments that do not care or provide for individual rights and do not have anything confining them, so they are allowed to do whatever they like. Our country has not been ravaged by any kind of recent civil wars like in Central America, the Middle East, Southeast Asia and others. And unlike countries like France, we do not have constantly have violent protests.Yes, we may have some share of gun violence, and murders. Wealthy disparity in America is greater than it has ever been, yet nothing seems to be done by the government to fix it. Bridging the wealth gap in America would require government regulation from government, but the American government is controlled by the wealthy. Rich business owners give large sums of money towards political campaigns, thus gaining them political favor. Along with a corrupted government, large corporations have taken up almost all market share in their respective industries, not allowing for small business to thrive. And, low-level workers at said corporations are treated unfairly and not allowed to unionize. With the wealthy controlling the government, big businesses dominating the economy, and workings being denied their rights, the American capitalist economic system makes it very difficult, if not impossible, for the impoverished to escape poverty.

I agree with you in believing the current system is unfair to a middle-class people. In spite of contributing to the US healthcare by Medicare tax, income tax etc., they still end up paying extra through health insurance premiums, co-pay, deductibles, etc. I like your idea of minimum universal health coverage and adding a private insurance coverage as an individual requirement.
