PSYC 115 Homework 3
1. How do you feel towards your body currently, on a scale of 1-10, with 1 feeling very negatively towards your body, 5 being neutral, and 10 feeling very positive about your body? Explain your numerical answer in a few sentences.
Answer: On a scale of 1-10, I currently feel like a 5 about my body. I feel like a 5 since I’m not necessarily satisfied about my current body but, I also do not feel miserable towards my body. I just feel stuck in the middle since I know that there is improvement that I could do towards my body for my own happiness and health. I also feel neutral because I know that my current weight is not how I want my body to look like but, the weight is something I am currently working

I am a huge contribution on why I feel like a 5 because I lack confidence in the way I look. I just do not feel fully content about my body because I know I can look better for myself and most importantly because I want to be healthier. My family also influences why I feel neutral since, they constantly ask me if I have gone to the gym recently and they would really like to see me skinnier. I pay close attention to and value what my family thinks about my body and they obviously think that I could be less heavy so it influences me to feel like I must lose weight as well. The third influence that contributes to my feelings towards my body is the media. As much as I would want to say that I could care less what the media says, I unfortunately cannot. Seeing the media constantly emphasize and stress what a beautiful woman should look like lowers my confidence and alters how I feel about my body. Lastly, health standards are also a major influence on how I feel about my body because according to their standards which I extremely pay attention to I am obese. Being categorized as obese from my doctor effects the way I feel about my

I had all of the diagnosis. The only thing that I did not have was increasing the medication from 10mg to 20mg. I just decided to go up to 15mg. AAP guidelines state that all criterial of DSM-IV are met and all other causes are ruled out. Information should be collected from parents, teachers and possibly other mental health professionals. If the patient has multiple teachers, then at least 2 teachers should fill out paper work. Evaluation should include possible coexisting conditions. These conditions include anxiety, depressive disorders, tics, and sleep disturbances. This is a chronic condition and patients should receive behavior therapy with medication administration (Hauk, 2013). I would ask about any sleep issues. He could be suffering from insomnia.
After reading through the chapter on the DMIS stages (denial, defense, minimization, acceptance, adaptation, and integration), I would say that personally, I fall under the “acceptance” stage. “This stage represents an individual’s ability to recognize and appreciate cultural difference in terms of both people’s values and their behavior” (Cushner, McClelland, Safford, Pg. 152). As it states, the individual experiencing acceptance is “beginning to demonstrate the ability to interpret phenomena within a cultural context”, I believe that this is a fitting sentence for myself. Being that I am from a rural prairie town in the middle of nowhere in Oklahoma, and the only people where I lived were other Senecas like my family and friends, I did not experience a cultural shock until I was in the sixth grade and had moved to Florida. In this town in Oklahoma, it was rare to even see someone described as “white”, as racial prejudice is still rampant throughout Oklahoma against Natives and basically, everybody who isn’t. I was taught to be accepting and welcoming throughout my life, and I believe that made the transition into a new cultural system much easier.

There is not a lot of information about the early Luke, some people say he was a slave, while others say he was a Greek instead of a Jew. Unfortunately, due to lack of early information we can’t be sure about that those theories. He is also said to be the brother of Titus, one of Paul’s disciples (Hindson,Towns, 2013). Luke was not only a writer, researcher, historian but also a doctor. He is said to have studied with Paul and that is how they came to know each other. Luke and Paul were just not traveling partners but also friends. Luke was with Paul until his death. He is mentioned three times in the new testament, all by Paul in his letters. Luke was the only one able to see Paul while he was in prison for health care needs. Not only did
“There are only patterns, patterns on top of patterns, patterns that affect other patterns. Patterns hidden by patterns. Patterns within patterns. If you watch close, history does nothing but repeat itself. What we call chaos is just patterns we haven't recognized. What we call random is just patterns we can't decipher. What we can't understand we call nonsense. What we can't read we call gibberish. There is no free will. There are no variables.(Palahniuk, Charles).” This quote indeed can be implied in our everyday lives, but I think that it is very much relatable to what goes on in our country, our government tactics and even the catastrophes that happened in America. However some would
1. The physician in this video went against the patient's wishes. The nurses in the clip followed the physician's orders and participated in the resuscitation. What professional roles and/or attributes that we discussed in class did they ignore and how should they have responded in this situation? Describe specific examples of professional communication techniques they could have used.
While reading through your response on the readings assigned for week #2, I felt you did great at explaining the details and examples for the terms that were introduced in week two assignment. For instinct when you gave the example of Ariel Castro and how he was arrested for kidnapping 3 young women in Cleveland while trying to explain teleological being based upon ones goals and consequences. While Deontological theories being more duty based where it was based off of the action instead of the consequence. So it focus on the right or wrong of the action not the right and wrong of the consequences.
As it applies to an IT environment, a vulnerability assessment is used to identify existing vulnerabilities giving the environment owner an awareness of what needs to be fixed (Who needs a Vulnerability Assessment, 2017). The assessment needs to be viewed for what it is, a onetime occurrence that in no way highlights all vulnerabilities. Multiple assessments of vulnerability must be conducted over time to ensure that as many possible avenues of weakness are explored, identified, and marked for improvement. As new systems are added, programs changed, or other changes to the system are made vulnerabilities might be created.
The teacher and the course assignment that has impacted me the most have both come from my Psychology 2301 class. My teacher’s name was Professor Dalmolin, and I completed my final honors project with her. She was so full of energy and loved to teach. Any question you had, she almost always had an answer, and if she didn’t, she would make sure we didn’t leave the classroom until she looked up the answer and got back to us. This is why I made sure to end my honors journey with her, and I am glad I did. My project was on emotional Intelligence and it involved a lot of medical research (in which I have no interest), and she was very helpful and even found articles on her own time that she thought would be beneficial to my project. Professors that
I have gone through the learning requirnments of statistics 200. I also have completed Research Methods 301W along with the rquired citi training. I have advanced with the process of writing and taking information from primary research and secondary research. In the folowing fall semester, I will be conducting my own research. My work is submitted to the IRB and is being processed and will then be performed in my senior year with the aid of my professor. My research is on the influence of learning and how technology affects it. I am excited and know that this is a tremendous opportunity that will help me broaden my knowledge.
2.I opt for this sentence because I love the imagining Barber gives to represent a type of cultural identity we perceive to be true. Barber illustrates McWorld goes into Jihad while the people are portrayed as "locals" in a sense that is virtually completely fake, delegated, and undeserved.
From the moment I skimmed the reading list for PSYC 300, I knew I wanted to write, in part, about the concepts of deceiving our perception that were to be discussed by Richard Wright. Through other PSYC, COGS, and PHIL courses, I’ve become fascinated with perception, and the idea that we trust what we see, given how fallible our perceptual system can be. I’ve also been interested, since about 2013, in virtual reality (VR) technology. At an industry event, I was able to test an early edition of the Oculus Rift VR headset; from the moment it was in place, and I was able to freely rotate my head in a new environment, I become engrossed in the sensation that I was no longer in the event hall, but rather in a dungeon, hunting Medusa. That I could
This essay is for women who believe their thighs are too big, their breasts are too small, their hair is boring, their skin is flawed, their body is shaped funny, or their clothes are outdated. This month's column is for women who believe their life would improve if they could lose 15 pounds; if they could afford contact lenses, that new perfume or anti-cellulite concoction; if they got a nose job, a face lift, a tummy tuck, etc. This month's column is for women who feel shame or unhappiness when they ponder some part (or all) of their body. In other words, this month's column is for 99.9% of the women reading it!
Have you ever thought to yourself, I am too ugly or too fat? Have you ever looked in the mirror and thought Why can’t I have the perfect body? If you answered yes, then this paper is for you. These questions always run through female’s minds. Size 14 is the normal size for a female in the United States. How come most women don’t feel normal? Women focus so much on the models and actresses they see on television that they want to be just like them. In reality, nobody is just like them. They don’t even look like them.
