Romeo And Juliet Fast Pace Decisions Essay

Occasionally everyone makes atrocious decisions, and usually, these choices do not cause an enormous negative impact on their future. In the classic Romeo and Juliet, the outcome of the characters’ demise is a result of their fast pace-decisions, their ignorance/assumptions, and their lack of ability in accepting responsibility. Throughout the characterization of both Romeo and Juliet, they have both made fast pace-decisions. Firstly, Romeo’s quick transition between his strong love for Rosaline to his immortal love for Juliet is unintelligent. Throughout the first act, Romeo is obsessed with Rosaline Capulet. He says, "the all-seeing sun ne'er saw her match since first the world begun"(1.2.95). This is important because it shows how fast …show more content…

Secondly, the two lovers believe that they undoubtedly are in love without even knowing the other person. Their desire to stay together is so strong that they believe that they can not survive without each other, which is the reason they get married. Prior to them getting married, Friar Lawrence warns Romeo and gives him advice on slowing things down. “These violent delights have violent ends/And in their triumph die, like fire and powder,/Which, as they kiss, consume./The sweetest honey/Is loathsome in his own deliciousness/And in the taste confounds the appetite./Therefore, love moderately. Long love doth so” (2.6.9-14). Which means that all these delights will have sudden endings. The Friar also says that these joys burn up in victory like when fire and gunpowder come in contact they explode. He goes on to say that honey does indeed taste delicious, however, too much will make you indisposed. Lastly, Romeo and Juliet get married secretly without even consulting their parents once because they assumed their parents would never agree. However, earlier on in the play, Capulet also says that he's too old to keep on feuding with the Montagues. Lord Capulet also stopped Tybalt from fighting Romeo, when he came to the
