This article offers a straight forward, non opinionated view into why some states have banned abortion. The article begins with stating that since 2010, 10 states have passed outright bans on abortions. Good is stating the facts, not leaning toward either side of the spectrum. Good’s use of statistics and several different examples of states that have already banned abortion, helped me as a reader to find factual evidence concerning this topic. His use of straightforward dialogue and discussion of why states are banning abortion, make for a solid and fact based argument.

In 1973 the supreme court case Roe vs. Wade made abortion legal. Abortion is one of the safest surgical procedures for women in the United States, with less than one percent of women having complications post procedure. People claim that abortions are inhumane and unethical but so is putting a fetus’s life that hasn’t been born yet before the mother. Although a lot of people are against abortion and claim it’s unconstitutional, the abortion bill is necessary for mothers because of irreversible birth defects, emotional wellness, and traumatic incidents.

Abortion should be outlawed because it harms women. During abortion much damage and health disorders happen to women. A lot of children are murdered every year in the United States. There are different kinds of families in the world. Most of those families care about their children. On the other hand, some women, especially teenagers, often get pregnant and do not understand the consequences. When this happens, they think the only solution for their pregnancy is abortion which is violation of the most fundamental law of nature. Many people regret having an abortion. This practice should be outlawed because it harms women, violates human rights, and kills unborn children.

I can make an argument all day about how abortions are morally wrong, but if I do not have a solution to the problem that I am arguing, then I am just being a bigot. A bigot is defined as some being narrow-minded towards an individual who has an opposing view. I truly believe that there are other solutions than continuing with the abortion procedure and that is giving the child up for adoption, teach more about safe sex, and last, set an early deadline on abortions.

Imagine a terminally ill loved one lying in a hospital bed, slowly dying of cancer, and the only two words he or she continues to repeat are “kill me.” If physician-assisted suicide, or PAS, was legal in the United States, loved ones would no longer have to suffer.
