Imagine you are at a school dominated by a group of people who Atheism and you and a few others wanted to vocalise your religion as Christians. In todays schools you should be able to, some schools have programs to help people do this but many do not. At RB we have a lot of clubs where you can show what you believe in whether you want to join the Christ on Campus Club or the LGBT club you can. Many people hate others because they are different, we should have more clubs and programs at schools across the country where new people who have common interests can meet and make friends. In high schools people come from all sorts of backgrounds and want to express that no matter what it is. One of the biggest things that people have opposing views
Should school uniforms be required in public schools? There are many reasons to get school uniforms. It is proven through statistics that school uniforms may decrease the amount of crime but also increase student safety. With uniforms fighting in schools dropped by 51%, sexual offenses depleted by 74% and drug possession went down by 69% (M. Sue Stanley). Student uniforms are all the same, which helps the students and teacher conserve precious class time by not having to re-enforce the standard dress code. Having the same clothes as everyone else can be upsetting but, TeenVogue stated “there are tons of ways to amp up your standard issue getup” (Teen Vogue).
Every year, thousands of people move to the United States from all over the world to play sports. According to the district they threatened to flunk sports down because they were rolling to cause financial problems and it would cut the cost of equipment. Therefore, schools should not have sports because they can cause district's financial problems, academic failures and students will not have the proper rooms to teach.
Should kids have school all year? I don't think so but some school systems do, some think that and some think the total opposite . One of the schooling systems is called a 45-15 and that means a child would go to school for 45 days and then have 15 days of break, and that goes on for the whole year.
Doctors in training call it "pimping." A medical student or junior resident is abruptly put on the spot, sometimes during patient rounds, as an instructor fires off difficult questions about anatomy, diagnostic protocols, or surgical procedures.[1] The practice is defended in pretty much the same way that other forms of humiliation, bullying, hazing, orpunishment are defended: Keeps 'em on their toes! Shows 'em I mean business! Toughens 'em up for when other people abuse them later! And of course that old chestnut:I suffered through it; why shouldn't they?[2]
Individuals are not able to express their own beliefs during school hours because of the fear of offending others. Taking away the ability to free your own mind is an issue that many are concerned about. Every human being is entitled to individual rights, primarily the right to exist. Once we restrict
Majority of high schools in America offer study hall as a way for teens to be able to get homework or un-finished classwork done. But some schools believe it is a waste of valuable class time so they do not offer it. Here are a few reasons why all schools should offer study hall.
Most Arizona schools have students with low grades that say they are stressed because of school sports. Therefore, school sports should be removed to increase the academic level of America, lower costs for schools, and decrease the amount of late work.
Students are often required to follow rules that force them to be like the others around them. Source G is an excellent example of this. Source G is a list of expectations pulled from a student handbook. The fifth bullet is “Cooperate with the specific rules of the school-” and under this is “dress in appropriate attire which does not distract or offend others.” A lot of different topics can offend different people. Some people are offended by different political beliefs, different religions, etc. As long as students don’t wear something that is harmful to another person, such as a shirt with a racist comment, then they should be allowed to express their beliefs.
Yes, no, maybe so? These four words are used everyday to describe issues among our countries population. One main concern for our country today and even closer to home, our school can be described with these four words. Freedom of Speech, Freedom of the Press, Freedom of Religion, the right to peaceably assemble and Freedom to Petition. In schools across America, students first amendment rights are questioned, or tweaked because of the fact that they are in public schools. I personally believe that even though we are students in a school district, never should any of our rights be taken away. I completely understand the issue of not completely having our constitutional rights as American citizens. In public schools across the states students
I’ve always been fascinated with what teachers are forbidden to teach in the classroom. There are many reasons why a school district would tell a teacher they can’t teach a subject. Whether for religious reasons, content, or it simply is too controversial for the classroom; cherry-picking curriculum happens. I grew up in a pretty open-minded area; for as long as I’ve known there wasn’t much fuss from parents about what was being taught at school. There were moments when in my junior high years when the school sent home a note informing parents that certain classes were being taught sex education. The school was careful not to cause any controversy with the students’ parents.
When America was founded, America’s Founding Fathers created the separation of church and state so the government would not be allowed to control the type of religion the American people preferred. In recent years, though people continuously taken that out of context and twisted the words of our First Amendment. Many people believe since public schools are a government facility, they cannot contain anything related to religion, including history topics, prayer in schools, or even religious clubs. Although there might be a fine line between church and school, having a basis of religion in education will help teach students more historical facts about America as well as help them grow morally. Religion in its entirety should not be taken out of the schools, but instead should be looked at to help better students educationally and ethically.
Why should we keep combined classes as separate subjects? Having combined classes should help us learn faster and more frequently right? In all actuality, combined Reading and English class will harm students’ learning. These literature classes would not teach students of different education paces to their highest potential. I firmly believe that we should keep these core classes divided.
Many disagreed about schools closing down based on standardized test. Few individuals think that it's not necessary and that it's just wasting school funds and the government or states money. Closing a school for performance reason is usually ineffective. Closing schools and transferring students does it result in improvement in any student performance by standardized test scores , graduation or dropout. Many agrees that closing schools are not necessarily require because it's not going to give any improvement on the student's
Should the students need to have lockers in the school? Yes, because the students must have lockers to protect their stuff or the other students might steal it when he/she is not in the classroom. Students should need to have a locker because if they have locker they can just go get their book or drop off a book instead of carry them around all day. Some of the students were in sport if they don't have locker he/she would have to carry their sweaty gym clothes around all day and i don't think anyone what that.
There are some colleges that have made it illegal to smoke on their campuses, but all campuses should have this law. Everyone has their own opinion on smoking laws and where they think smoking should be illegal. Smoking is hazardous to not only the person smoking but to the people around them. Some people say that smoking rates have gone down since campuses have started banning smoking. Some people feel as if these bans are colleges way of saying smokers aren’t welcome at that school. Some people think that the bans are useless and some kids say that they are going to ignore the ban and continue to smoke on campus. As students, we learn how bad smoking is for you and how it’s not allowed in certain areas, but some colleges still allow it on their campus.
