Relative to the massive followers there are quite some intriguing differences and similarities that can be found between the two, from their beliefs, their origin, practices and doctrines (Redditt). The Christians belief in the holy trinity, which comprises of The Father, The Son and The Holy Spirit, while the Islam believe in Allah as their God and Mohamed as the true Prophet. While there are quite a number of differences between the two religions, there are also similarities to match. One of the major similarities is the fact that the two are Abrahamic religions, meaning that they both believe that there is only one God. This paper delves into the aspect of the afterlife and that of deities between the two religions, by trying to establish the main differences and similarities. Judaism, Christianity, and Islam are three of the most well known and most influential religions in the world today. There are many similarities among these religions. All three religions originated in the Middle East tracing their history back to Abraham. Each of these religions believes that there is only one god therefore they are all considered to be a monotheistic religion. Another important similarity is the belief that their god created everything and that it is possible to have an individual and personal relationship with him. Both trace their ancestry to the patriarch Abraham and believe in Adam and eve. They both believe in Jesus however Christians believe Jesus is the son of God whereas Islam faith believes that Jesus was a very great prophet. (P373) Both religions believe there is only one God, who is the creator of everything. (P. 309 & 385) Both believe in an afterlife Islam calls paradise and Christians call Heaven. Islam believes that non-believers and evil-doers ultimately experience great misfortune in this life or the afterlife. (P. 376) Christians believe that through repenting and baptism there is an afterlife in heaven with God. (P. 321) Both believe in the message of Jesus being correct and good. (P.285 & 373)
Islam, Christianity and Judaism are known as the three great monotheistic faiths. Their followers make up 55.5% of the world’s population. (Hackett, 2017) Christianity having the largest following followed by Islam and then lastly Judaism. Though their congregations may differ in faith, they still have more similarities than differences. Such as, their shared heritage to similar traditions, rituals and their view and nature of God through scriptures. They do however have differences that have helped to bridge a gap that has separated them amongst one another. The main objective of this paper is to show how Islam, Christianity and Judaism have a shared heritage and show similarities in their traditions, rituals and the different view of God through their individual scriptures.

Christianity and Islam are the two biggest religions that are present in the world today, with close to four billion followers combined. While Christianity and Islam actually have a lot more in common than most people think, there are still many differences to them. First, let’s start with the similarities between the two. Both religions believe that in one way or another, Jesus will return to Earth in the final days of the world to have a judgement day, in which essentially will determine if you go to heaven/paradise or hell, as both accept the fact that there is life after death, just different views of what exactly they think that life is. In addition, both Christianity and Islam believe in prophets, they both say that God sent prophets such as Moses, Noah, Abraham, and others. Another point is that both religions believe in the sovereignty of God. In both Christianity and Islam, God itself is the highest power there is, he is the sole creator of everything and that the world that we live in is exclusively dependent on him and him only. One of the last similarities I’d like to note, and perhaps maybe the most important to some, is that both religions believe that there is just one supreme God over everything.
