In the skateboarding community, most see it as an art, lifestyle, and a passion. But what about outside of the community. What do the people of this world normally think when they see a skateboarder? Most of the time people see it as destruction of property, punk kids, and dropouts, but have you ever seen it from a skateboarder's perspective, what is so wrong with this. How has this gotten to the point of being against the law in certain states in the U.S. Skateboarding has now been embedded as a sport and shouldn't be illegal. Well from the outsider's view, skateboarding has been typically stereotyped as dropouts, druggies, rebellions in today's society, and law breakers. Yes skateboarders are going onto private properties and skating the spots. But it is there job in most cases. They get paid from having a pro model board or skating profesional contents. To become a professional skateboarder, you cannot just skate in skate parks all the time. There is a formula to skateboarding. This makes a bad reputation to the other skateboarders in the community who haven't done anything. Yes it may say no skateboarding allowed on the sign. But that phase skateboarders at all. There are times where the owner of the property your skating doesn't mind the skating at all, but when they say you have to leave, you should leave. A lot of skaters don't listen to this because they are trying to the land a trick. If the owner says he is going to call the police then you should leave. When the cops are involved it makes the situation even
Skateboarding has rich history of innovation and is full of intriguing stories. Many of these stories are documented in this book in great detail. However, this essay will provide you with an overview of the last nine decades.
Since its conception and development, skateboarding has been a controversial public activity. This negative reputation dates back to the origins of skateboarding and to fully understand the issue we must understand the history of skateboarding. In the 1950’s, many different surfers had the idea to put roller skate wheels on 2x4 wooden planks and “surf” the streets when they couldn't actually surf in the ocean during periods of low tide. This was the public's first impression of what would eventually evolve to become skateboarding; long shaggy haired surfers riding through the streets on planks of wood that could barely turn and would result in frequent injuries. The sport developed through the 1960’s and reached its peak in 1963. During this
Skateboarder’s, rolling down the sidewalk then all of a sudden boom they crash into someone. It could have been an accident but it could also could just be carelessness. This is why skateboarding should be banned from public sidewalks and public places.
Skateboarding has been around since 1944. Initially, created as a crate with wheels and a bar used as a handle bar, the idea was slowly being more refined. Woman’s Army Corps Betty Magnuson, reported seeing French children riding on wooden boards with rollerblade wheels attached to them which would imply that the idea has been played around with but never capitalized upon. From crate boxes with handle bars, to popsicle shaped boards with specialty made wheels backed with a massive culture, skateboarding has become a popular industry.
Skateboarding was an unseparated activity during my post-childhood. Too many imaginations to become an expert while playing “Tony Hawk Pro Skater” in old PlayStation console have brought my desire to attempt many tricks, the most unforgettable two were kickflip and ollie. I mostly practiced at home garage and public place as long I could play over the smooth pavement made of concrete or tile. There was no skatepark available in my hometown and my friend once told me to go to Jakarta for having a remarkable experience. Today, I have grown up then realise how “Skatepark” plays an important role to accommodate beginner and pro skaters.
Skateboarding is the act of riding and performing tricks using a skateboard. A person who skateboards is most often referred to as a skateboarder, or colloquially within the skateboarding community, a skater. Skateboarding can be a recreational activity, a job, or a method of transportation. Skateboarding has been shaped and influenced by many skateboarders throughout the years. Skateboarding is relatively modern.
For many years, schools have been debating whether to keep sports for students or get rid of them. If the schools were to cancel their programs, they would not only save on money for schools and families, they would give other activities a chance, and improve their academic grades. Therefore, school sports should be eliminated to cut costs, give students an opportunity for other activities, and improve students grades.
Although many people may think the city council should not make it illegal to be out on the street after ten p.m. on weekdays and after midnight on weekends, city council, for one, should make it illegal for teenagers to be out so late on the streets because of danger, trouble, and the creatures.
There is a stereotype that reaches the conclusion that all skateboarders graffiti and are hoodlums. This is a gross generalization that only serves to on artistic youth culture. Passionate and talented skateboarders use skateboarding as a means of self-expression, and even to keep themselves from joining the wrong crowds of people. In fact, it is common to see skaters out at night practicing in the park. Without them there, it is possible that there could be a rise in crime at the parks. Though indirect, a conclusion could be made that skateboarders are beneficial to the
Marijuana, a speculated harmful gateway drug where ‘Marijuana raids are more harmful than the drug itself”(Ingraham, 2017). Is Marijuana really that harmful to be illegal? Marijuana is currently illegal in some states in the U.S. and Canada for recreational use, medical use or both. Some areas already legalized the use of Marijuana like California, Nevada, etc. which is causing controversy since other states and countries won’t. Marijuana should be legal as the facts and statistics are coming out, like, the health benefits, the Economic benefits and how a low-risk drug like Cannabis compares to other legal drugs.
Being a professional athlete means that the individual is one of the best at what they do. There are very few, if any, who could beat them. Professional athletes play their sport in front of an audience and get paid for it. If the athletes are good enough, they develop fans. The fans enjoy seeing the athletes play so much that they are willing to pay to watch. Professional athletes are a lot like entertainers or performers. They must risk failure to succeed. But if they fail too often, they could potentially lose their fans, and if they lose their fans, their career as a professional athlete could be over. Professional athletes train for competitions or games in figure skating, baseball, tennis, golf, skiing, football, swimming, or whatever sport they specialize in. They put in hours and hours of physical training and loads of practice. “Most athletes train seven days a week for about five hours each day” (Castro). On competition days, athletes stretch, rest, drink water, and eat healthy foods. Professional athletes are expected, by their fans and coaches, to be the best they could possibly be at their sport.

School sports have been around for years, but many people have debated if they’re acceptable for districts. According to multiple studies, scholars who participate in athletics typically get low grades and miss classes throughout the year. Therefore, schools should ban sports to save money, help more students pass classes, and allow plenty of time for them to complete homework and projects.
The main idea of my project was to bring awareness to the public about skateboarding culture and some of the history behind it. Currently, skateboarding is big in pop-culture and is considered a “cool” thing to do; however, not very long ago that was not the case. Skateboarding was something done by outsiders. It was something that losers, freeks and geeks did. It was the exact opposite of cool. The passionate words of pro skateboarder Jeff Grosso paints a perfect picture of what skateboarding means to real skateboarders and how it is done for the love of it, not because it is “trending.”
The skateboards been around for a long time but wouldn't you want to know how it was first made? Or what it originally looked like, or even why it was made? It all started in Santa Monica, California where surfing was rad and thrashing was bad! People loved to skateboard as much as they did surfing. Skateboarding was just a new way, on land! People loved to do manuals, 180s, 360s and shred the nar in empty pools!
