The social gender inequality has been a serious problem since the ancient period. Women were dominated by men and had little power in the society. Men were mostly doing agriculture work or hunting. On the contrary, women were basically doing works like house cleaning, breeding children, and making clothes that they played the domestic role in a family. Although the historical event—enlightenment emphasized the importance of human rights, it is excluded the women’s rights. After the emergency of capitalism, the situation became worse and women had less power and rights either in family or in society. 1998 was the 150th Anniversary of the Women’s Rights Movement (Women’s Rights Movement, 2016). A lot of positive changes have been made since the convention. Probably people haven’t noticed, but over the past seven generations, dramatic social and legal changes have been accomplished. Elder people are more likely than young people to aware of the differences. The youth may think this is how life has always been. The changes have taken places in various areas such as in family, in government, in religions, in employment and just to name a few. Women worked very hard to make things changes. They strived through meetings, lobbying, public speaking, and many other ways that can inform people about the importance of women’s rights. It seems that no one can define the human rights. This creates problems and debates on the subject of human rights. If the human rights can’t be defined, then there will be no standard for having the human rights. So that the social gender inequality will no longer exist because the rights are subjective instead of objective. There has no way to exam the true or false of the rights so that the so-called human rights are meaningless. Under this situation, men and women are no difference. The period when Arendt wrote this piece of work was the time women’s right movements making further progress. Women already earn themselves some rights and freedom so that they can have a broader platform to express opinions. She didn’t afraid of writing aggressive or controversial facts that may cause concern in the society. It was a different world than it used to be. Women had gain respects and rights and they began to involve deeper into the society. This can’t be achieved without the hard striving for almost a century from women’s rights
