There are many cold cases out there, and many families are still out there waiting for justice. An article titled, “America's Unknown Child,” written by multiple concerned citizens, is one of these cases. In Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, on February 25, 1957, A boy commonly called "America's Unknown Child" was found. His identity has never been discovered and the case remains unsolved. No substantial evidence has been found, but there are a few theories. The most compelling theory is about the foster home, because of the location of the body, the evidence, and the interviews.
It was then that she realized her daughter had been unaccounted for, for several months. Once she reported her daughter missing, the second body was identified. Three more bodies were positively identified on November 8th. Their names were: Crystal Dozier, 38, Ameldea (Amy) Hunter, 47, and Michelle Mason, 45, all African American women. Crystal was a mother of seven and had a criminal history of drug offences. Crystal’s family reported her missing several times before. The family believed that the police department failed to investigate the reports so they took it upon themselves to contact local hospitals. They also posted flyers in their neighborhood. Amy Hunter was a beautician and a mother of three. She had a criminal history and there were several reports of Amy abusing drugs and alcohol. Although Amy did not live in the area, she frequently visited the area. It is reported that Amy did not have use of both of her arm, which made her an even more desirable target. Michelle Mason was a mother who again, had a history of drug abuse. Police records show that Michelle also had a criminal record. Amy lived near Sowell’s house. After reports of her disappearance in October of 2008, a full investigation was launched. This is just another reason victim’s families believe that the police in Cleveland were negligent.

The 1940’s in the United States was a time in history that generations look back on to reminisce on simpler times and new beginnings. 1947 was the year that Jackie Robinson first took the field for the Brooklyn Dodgers as the first African American to play in the MLB, a gallon of gasoline was 15 cents, and the first instant camera was invented. While many positive feats were made and challenges overcome, 1947 is also the year of the gruesome “Black Dahlia” murder. Elizabeth Short or otherwise known by her nickname “Black Dahlia” became a household name when her body was found brutally butchered and drained of blood. 67 years have passed since her murder and to this day the case remains open and a mystery. The world may never truly know why
In a small midwestern town in Villisca, Iowa rests the quiet house of Josiah B. Moore and Sarah Montgomery Moore, who were both killed with an ax around midnight along with their 4 children Katherine, Herman, Boyd, and Paul. All in the age range between 5 and 11. In addition to those murders, as if it weren’t bad enough, two friends of theirs were sleeping over. The Stillinger sisters, Lena and Ina both just 12 an 8 years old, were killed as well. The Villisca Murder Case as called by law enforcement was the longest unsolved case of our time. It’s still unsolved, and has been left open for more than 100 years. It was a terrible tragedy because the small town of Villisca lost eight innocent lives that night. The murderer unknown, evidence they hardly have any, and eight people’s skulls
The book outlines the tireless work done by the bereaved parents in search for justice on behalf of other missing children. The main attraction of the book is the investigation of the Hollywood Police Department that exposes the bulging of the investigators that had previously worked on the case. Standiford and Matthews carefully builds the case against the police. They provide details that contain numerous leads that were disregarded during the initial investigation. These included some obvious questions that were never asked, a number of crucial witnesses that were ignored, and details concerning incomplete or falsified reports. In addition, the fresh investigation of the investigators exposed evidence that was never examined and a number of vital evidence that got lost.
Detective Dave Brennan of the Special Victims Unit, and lead investigator of Susan 's first attack eight years prior found himself a bit irritable. The assailant only serving six of a ten-year sentence, had been released on good behavior. Upon release, he had returned in retaliation, and brutalized her a second time, followed by obscene calls, and endless threatening letters. The case had been the reason for Brennan 's many sleepless nights, last night was no exception. Exhausted, the detective sat scanning over the case file, head cradled in one hand, he found himself at wit 's end. Susan 's second attack had been exceptionally brutal, the suspect had beaten, raped, and set her gown on fire. She had described her assailant, as wearing a
In this editorial, we are being informed about what occurred about 40 years ago. Forty years ago, in Maryland, two sister went to Wheaton Mall and never returned home. Both sisters’ bodies have not yet been found. However, since last year police officers have named a person of interest in the case, Lloyd Welch. Welch was charged with two first degree murders, regarding the disappearance of both sisters. But, prosecutors will have a difficult time trying to prove he’s guilty due to the long time frame, and lack of evidence.

Introduction: On the day of August 14,2011, Anna Garcia was found dead in her home, in the entry hallway of her house laying face down, at 10:20 a.m. Anna Garcia's worried neighbor, Doug Greene made the call to 911 at 9:45am. Doug Greene also reported that he had seen Anna walking her dog earlier in the morning the day before around six a.m. It wasn't unusual that Anna walked her dog, but she was wearing a sweater in ninety degree weather, which Doug found odd. The reason Anna’s neighbor had called was because he reported that he heard aggressive dog barking and after he had called the house there was no answer. When the police and EMTs arrived at 9:56 a.m they had to kick down the door because it was locked and there was not any other unlocked entrance to get into the house, Police and EMTs determined that Anna was
The occurring disappearances pile up in Bath, London. Recently, Billy Weaver, a young seventeen year old, disappeared after visiting Bath for a potential job interview. Last night, authorities were able to arrest her after she was on the run from the police. The landlady, who allegedly killed the three men, was identified as Mrs. Susan Taylor, a forty-five year old woman. She confessed to killing the three young men with cyanide poisoning. Forensic investigators found fingerprints
