As the second cycle began, the children had completed their clean up routines and were now gathering in a group to participate in their morning circle activities. Mrs. Eady lead the children through the days of the week, the calendar, word wall, reviewing of the classroom rules, music and movement, and a reading of the book, “The Plumply Dumply Pumpkin.” While most of the activities were teacher chosen, the children had an active role in the lessons. Each child had the opportunity to lead part of the lesson, both in reviewing the word wall and the classroom rules. Throughout the activities, children could stand up and move and openly share their thoughts. When children did share their thoughts, the teacher encouraged them to express themselves
A long time ago in the 1900s there was a woman named Rosemary. She loved fall and wanted some pumpkin seeds. Rosemary decided to go to the farm with her husband Norman and her sister Carrie. Every year they would go to the farm to get pumpkins. This year they were really excited because the farm got better more orange pumpkins. Carrie was in her high 50s and so was Norman. Her sister Carrie was in her high 40s.
One day i was walking in the pumpkin patch. I Could smell the donut ready to be ate in the barn it smelled delicious. I had to go get the ranger to put the bright orange pumpkins in the back of the ranger so people don't have to walk to far. After that i have to walk in the barn to feed the cows there nasty food. They i have to go clean the fat pigs. Then then it will be ready to open. Right when it opened there was a ton of idiotic people. At first all the amazing donut were gone so i had to ride down the road and get more from the bakery. When i walked it smelled so good i had to buy like 500 donut when i got back the line was crazy.
Today I went to the Lantern for the first time. When we arrived and signed in we were told to just go hang out in the living room area and talk to the residents that Cathy would be there around three. We got to talk with the residents and paint pumpkins. The residents are a true blessing.
I am Brooklyn , Brooklyn Stone , and this is my story. Every year near Halloween me and my dad always went to get Pumpkins at the Windy Dindy Pumpkin Patch near the grocery store. At the time i was 7 years old , i was an only child with a mom and a dad. Me and my dad went to the pumpkin patch and my dad had a very bad heart attack , he landed on the pumpkins , broke his skull and died. I remember I was on the floor bawling. My dad had told me when i was about 5 or 6 that one year he was going to die in the pumpkin patch and i would have to pick the right pumpkin to save his life. I didn't believe it until that day. One pumpkin was rotten , another was little , and some others were huge.
Her classes were basic. Mornings consisted of breakfast and then pre-algebra. The Basics of English followed, and then dance lessons and a general science course. The teachers called on students with names such as “Silly One,” “Messy One,” “Troubled One,” “Careless One,” “Rude One,” “Moronic One,” and “Superstitious One.” Often scoffed and brushed aside, Stupid One barely had any friends – Moronic One and Superstitious One considered Stupid One a friend, but they seldom talked. Moronic One stuttered and stumbled over his words while Superstitious One grumbled about demons infesting the
Obstreperous screaming, balls soaring through the air, the sound of shoes reverberating across the pavement, and enthralling excitement in the atmosphere; one simple word described this environment: recess. I was eight years old, currently in second grade at Clearview Elementary school. Recess, being everyone’s favorite part of the day, allowed each grade to experience a time of freedom, while having a fabulous time with friends. Even though a towering fence defined our freedom at recess, the excitement of venturing on to the outside world instead of being trapped inside sparked a chain reaction that illuminated everyone’s face with gigantic smiles and laughs that echoed against the stony school building. The late April weather felt marvellous..not too hot or cold. The sun, a fiery star, radiated down on my exposed
The pumpkin was not always referred to as such, the name derived from the Greek word for large melon which is pepon. The name was later changed to Pompon by the French. The English called it pumpion. The finally it was changed by American Colonist to what we know it now as pumpkin.
You do not have to spend all night waiting in the neighborhood pumpkin patch to enjoy the wonderful fragrance of the Great Pumpkin. Sure, you can spend the night going from house to house hoping that your unlucky streak of receiving a bag full of rocks will end but why wait.
The view of glow pumpkins in the front of my neighbor’s houses attracted me to know more about the Halloween celebration and what are the people traditions with this holiday. Indeed, this is the first time for me I have seen the Halloween celebration and preparation, so I have a passion for American culture regarding popular vacations and famous events. My husband and I had attended three places that celebrate the Halloween which included CSEL, universal mall partner, my children’s daycare.
This is not a Linus fantasy sequence or a visit to the Twilight Zone. I?m referring, instead, to the annual eruption of pumpkin recipes that seems to overshadow the coming of fall and the holiday season, beginning with the eve of the Feast of All Hallows, or All Saints Day to Roman Catholics. It seems that every year the uses for this orange colored squash expands and diversifies. This year is no different. Don?t misunderstand me, I look forward to the annual visit of pumpkin donuts and muffins, courtesy of Dunkin? Donuts, as much as anyone, but now it expands beyond pumpkin flavored coffee into an evening cocktail.
Together they go to her locker and gather her things for the day. Julie’s class schedule consists of homeroom, life skills class, algebra, biology and English. Once Julie has the things she needs, she goes to her homeroom class. Homeroom is a time to hear announcements and take attendance for the day. After homeroom, Julie goes to her first class, with is life skills. This class includes a variety of lessons and skills that Julie will need to live independently someday. Julie says this is a nice way to start her day because the class is not very academic and allows her to ease into her
It was finally time for josh and I’s favorite holladay, Halloween. Josh and I love to scare each other and we love candy, so it was the perfect holiday for us. Josh and I would always go out to a pumpkin patch and find the perfect pumpkins for us to carve. My grandma would always help me find the perfect one. My dad would carry the pumpkins to the car.
The literature circle activity “read and roll,” did not fit the book “Out of the Dust.” Although there are parts of the activity that would be useful for this book, and the use of the dice to assign what part the student would complete was good. In my class, I would not use this specific active for any literature circle activity. I do not see this as a literature circle activity. The aim of a literature circle according to the text book is to “… discuss their responses to the literature…,” it goes on to say, “the goal of a literature circles is for children to learn to work and think with one another and to value the opinions and views of others” (Short, Lynch-Brown, & Tomlinson, 2014, p. 288). This active

Have you ever had a situation where you think telling the truth will get you in trouble, however lying or not saying anything would possibly make the situation worse? Then you're faced with the decision of telling the truth, or keeping quiet and awaiting the results. This is the story of how I learned to always be honest.
