There are a lot of similarities in communicating with children, young people and adults but there are also some differences which involve langue, body langue and communication aids.
Children:
With children langue needs to be age appropriate so your language will need to be simpler and you need to be very clear and concise about what you are saying. You may also have to give more reassurance to build their confidence. Body language may also have to be more exaggerate as children may not pick up on subtler signs. Also you may have to use more physical contact with children especially the very young.
Young People:

Answer: When managing disagreements with any age group there are certain basic principles involved: • To manage a disagreement there can be no winners or losers as the resolution must benefit all sides. • Always remain calm and let it be known that shouting or being aggressive will not help the situation or resolve it. • It always important not to take sides and to let all parties involved have their say one a time without being interrupted.
Children -
With younger children you will usually have to resolve the disagreements for them but teaching aids such as play people and puppets can be useful to act out conflict situations and help them to understand the first steps of resolving disagreements. Young children are also more emotional and before you can resolve the problem you may have to take any upset children somewhere quite to calm down first.
