In this day and age, it appears students and technology go hand in hand. Despite being a controversial conversation, teachers and other andminstators are searching tonintergrate computers and othe technological devices into schools. Nevertheless, in order to efficently develop students into successful thinkers, technology will only be practical if used to enhance learning, not control leaning.

Technology has many attributes and applications that improve livelihoods. As a student myself, one of the most obvious advancements is in the field of education. Educational technology has slowly been integrated into classrooms over the last decade. Technology has only recently become apart of life and it is continuously growing and evolving. Generations have become dependent on electronic devices, it is used in everyday life. Though it is not a bad thing unlike commonly believed. The school should not participate in “Shut Down Your Screen Week” because the technological database offers many learning opportunities and has the ability to make students smarter.

This idea that the physical action of such seemingly meaningless tasks makes me want to leave my phone aside for the few hours I spend at school, learning and enriching my mind. These articles have clarified for me that the negative outcomes of technology in learning prevent my mind from absorbing knowledge. My academic work, whether it be in high school or college, will constantly deteriote if I let technology overpower my ability to think and learn. It is not even the fact that the use of technology will probably lower my grades, but the possibility of not growing or learning makes me realize that the consequences of technology use in the classrom are some that I will avoid and prevent by allowing myself to use my senses and knowledge to gain new ideas and experiences. Such implicaitons are ones that I wish to not face and will do so by simply setting my phone aside to learn, and by letting go of the temptation that technology can be, in such a modern, tech-savy

Although children spend about seven hours a day on tech devices, parents should not limit how much time children spend on tech devices. Children should not be limited because some children only comminicate through these devices, some children use teir devices for educational reason, and some children only know how to enternain themselves through their devices. Schools are also looking at new technologies that will not cost them a bunch of money but actually save them money, an example of this is schools are turning to the cloud for storing and sharing information, there is much smaller costs than operating a server and paying someone to make sure the equipment is running and updated as needed. I know that’s a little off point but just an example of other ways schools are using technology at a cheaper cost. I graduated with my BS in Criminal Justice and belonged to a fraternity, when we needed new technology for our program we would have fund raisers. Unfortunately, those can be difficult to find volunteers for running it, and you have to have several to make the money normally needed for new equipment.
