The Battle of the Alamo is probably the most famous battle to take place in the history of, and in the state of, Texas. The battle has given Texans the will to persevere against tough odds and the courage to endure through seemingly impossible situations for many generations. Many a Texan would draw inspiration during the fights following the defeat at the Alamo. This inspiration eventually led them to victory during the Texas Revolution following the Battle of San Jacinto. Had the Texas military correctly utilized their intelligence and combat assets available to them at the time, they would have been able to properly reinforce the Alamo. This would have allowed Texan leadership to develop an effective strategy to defeat the Mexican army

The Texas Revolution is a historical war that began in October of 1835 and ended in April 1836. Even before the war began, there existed hostilities between the groups of colonists and the official forces. This was culminated with the by the political and social differences that fueled the revolution. The conflict was majorly witnessed between the Mexican rulers and the Anglo-American residents of Texas (Tshaonline.org, 2015). Several accounts have been given by various eyewitnesses on the events of the Texas Revolution.

The Texas Revolution was a key point in our nation’s history and in the history of the state of Texas. For, if Texas had not revolted the way that they did, it would probably not have become a state. There are many causes that are speculated on why Texas revolted whether they are political disputes against the Centralist party in Mexico that had primary control at the time of the Revolution. So, what was the Texas Revolution? During the reign of Antonio López de Santa Anna, colonists in the Mexican province of Texas rebelled against the increasingly centralized Mexican government. While ulterior motives were unclear, a primary goal among the Tejanos and Anglos in the area was the Independence from the “tyrannical government” of Mexico. This revolution led to the formation of the Republic of Texas. Furthermore, allowing Texas to be annexed into the United States of America at a later date.

The revolution started with the rejection of their constitution and then the first shots fired at Gonzales, continued with the Battles of Goliad and Concepcion, the Siege of Bexar and ended with the Battle of San Jacinto. The Battle of San Jacinto was a short fight, lasting only 6 minutes, but it was the most important and memorable fight. Part of this struggle was for the control of territory and trade in the Ohio Territory through the backcountry lands of the Eastern Seaboard and down into the Mississippi River Valley region. The Seven Years’ War lasted from 1756 to 1763. It ended with British’s victories at Louisburg, Fort Frontenac and Quebec. The Treaty of Paris in 1763 was an afterward treaty that ultimately led to the British dominance of North America colonial outposts. However, the staggering cost of the war put British in a dangerous economic situation with enormous debts. Furthermore, Britain had to deal with new territories and old colonies. Parliament therefore passed a series of measures to recover the expenses on the war and created new courses in dealing with America. Those measures intensified colonials’ resistance to British imperial policies, which later led to the American Revolution. The American Revolution was a comprehensive revolution, which included economic, political and social causes. When the American Revolution ended with the Treaty of Paris in 1783, the consequences of the American Revolution could also affect nation politically, socially, and economically.

The Mexican-American war, also known as the Mexican war happened between 1846 and 1848 with the participants being United States of America and Mexico. Texas, previously a Mexican state, was the primary cause of the war. A series of disagreements had occurred between Texans and the Mexican government leading to Texas declaration of its independence in 1836.
