Did you know that “it has been 50 years since two scientists found landmark evidence for the Big Bang theory?”(Kramer,2014) The Bang Theory aka BBT is the most popular explanation about the start of our universe that is widely accepted/acknowledged. The theory is that “the entire Universe is spreading apart, with distant galaxies speeding away from us in all directions. Run the clock backwards to 13.8 billion years ago, and everything in the Cosmos started out as a single point in space. In an instant, everything expanded outward from that location, forming the energy, atoms and eventually the stars and galaxies we see today.” (Cain, 2013) The Big Bang Theory is possibly right because of the evidence/research backed up by it such as exploration done by Edwin Hubble, data found by both Arno Penzias and Robert Wilson, and background radiation that had been found that is believed to be created by the Big Bang.
In the first place, Edwin Hubble was an astronomer who found important information of the BBT. His findings originated the Big Bang Theory in the first place. (“The Big Bang Theory”, n.d.) In 1929, Edwin Hubble declared that the universe was increasing and that most galaxies were moving away from us. (Redshift and Hubble’s law, n.d.) This shut down Einstein's theory that the universe was static (“Hubble’s Law”, 2015)Also, “his theory states that the Universe must have been created in this single event which came to be known as the "Big Bang" through expanding at an
Cosmic background radiation is radiation from the early development of the universe. After the big bang the universe was smaller and much hotter than it is now and was filled with a fog of hydrogen plasma. Eventually the universe started expanding and became cooler. As it cooled stable atoms started forming, leaving only CMB remained so it is a strong evidence that the Big Bang Theory was correct. Scientist thought if the big bang actually happened then there would have to be cosmic background radiation left over, so all they had to do is find evidence of this and they did so this gave the big bang theory evidence to support their claim.
Throughout many centuries philosophers have argued over the existence of God. In today’s society many people tend to hesitate in believing in a God because of the new scientific discoveries. For example, in the mid 1990s scientists built the Hubble telescope which revealed that there were billions of galaxies in our universe, this discovery led some people to question how can one divine being create so much and yet have a personal connection with everyone in the world. Which, in result, may take some scientific explanation to strengthen one’s belief in God, but for those who believe there is a benevolent God they do not need science to show proof that he exists because of their morals and beliefs they have been raised to follow. In this paper I will prove that God does exist by explaining the ontological, cosmological, and design argument.
It is said that the Big Bang Stories or origin is without a doubt totally fictional. Naturalism and Uniformitarianism is the main driven philosophies behind the Big Bang. It is the model used to describe the formation for the entire universe; it’s the process that is currently operating within the Universe. Big Bang - is also called a “Singularity” which contains Mass and energy that we see today. It’s said over time that the energy from this Theory began to cool down as the Universe began to expand. It is said by some that God used the Big Bang to create the Universe.
Edwin Hubble was an important contributor to the Big Bang Theory. Edwin Hubble received his PhD in Astronomy at Chicago University. After college, he became the lead researcher in the field of astrophysics at Mount Wilson in California. He has done many things to help prove that the Big Bang Theory did in fact happen.
After conducting an hour-long observation and data collection of The Big Bang Theory, I found three specific patterns. These were patterns of traditional gender roles, heterosexual privilege, and gender performance. The first pattern is the traditional breadwinner and housewife roles that are portrayed throughout the episodes. In the show women are seen occupying the household while the men occupy the workplace. These traditional roles reinforce gendered behaviors and interactions amongst the male and female character that reflect modern day society.
The currently accepted model of the Big Bang is "that the the universe is not static but is expanding and that the expansion began in an incredibly hot, dense Big Bang approximately 13.72 billion years ago" (Krause, 2012, p. 25). This hot, dense bit of matter was only a few millimeters across and contained all of the matter and energy that makes up our universe and as it expanded, it cooled and over the billions of years of existence the universe settled into its current state.
The broadly accepted philosophy for the evolution of our universe is the Big Bang theory, which states that the universe began as an incredibly hot and dense point roughly 13.7 billion years ago before expanding into a large, unexplored cosmos; home to an unknown amount of planets and systems.
One of the topics I most agree with Collins is that of the big bang theory; there is too much evidence to ignore the big bang theory, but it does seem to require divine explanation. The big bang theory states that 15 to 20 billion years ago the universe singularity appeared, regardless of the cause. There are a total of ten stages in the creation of the universe based upon the big bang theory. Scientifically the big bang theory has the most evidence to support that it was the cause of the universe. There is a diverse amount of evidence that exists within the natural world to support the big bang theory: galactic expansion, the expansive blanket of background radiation, and hydrogen and helium proportions (5).
What were the key ideas and observations that led to the development of the Big Bang Theory? First, scientists found that the universe is expanding. The observation that led them to conclude that everything used to be extremely close together before some kind of explosion occurred. Second, the big bang perfectly explains the abundance of helium, hydrogen and other elements in the universe. According to the Big Bang Theory, a very hot soup of elementary particles flew apart at an astonishing rate and filled the universe. These particles in abundance are what we observe today. Third, Penzias and Wilson detected radiation in their efforts to survey the Milk Way by using a radio telescope. Their intention was to measure radio sources of the
There have been many theories concerning what the universe looks like, how it became this way, and where it is going. The most popular theory that people hold today is that the universe began when all the matter ever present in the universe was contained in a tiny speck and that spec exploded. This is known as the Big Bang. This theory has developed a great deal since it was first conceptualized and continues to evolve today. Many different scientists have had a hand in this.
The Big Bang Theory is the name given to mark the event of the birth of the universe and is the scientific theory about what happen in the earliest moments of the universe, and how the universe was an extremely hot and dense of subatomic particles and radiation. The big bang let insights about how old the universe is and the universe is 14 billion years old and it has changed throughout its time.
In response to the young earth six day creation of the Earth idea, secular scientist have developed the idea of the Big Bang theory. According to the big bang theory, the universe began by expanding from a minuscule volume that possessed extremely high density as well as extreme temperatures. Initially the universe was significantly smaller than a pore on your skin. (Takahashi, 2000 ) It is thought that this happened about 10-20 billion years ago. According to Yuki D. Takahasi (2000) in his article “Big Bang: How did the Universe begin?” He states 3 main observations that point to truth in the Big Bang Theory. Number one is astronomers have found that the universe continues to expand which means that the
Should we as humans expect to find intelligent life elsewhere in the Universe? There are many reasons for and against this concept, but first we should trace just how our terrestrial life started.
Astronomers believed the Universe was created about 14 billion years ago. During that time, the entire Universe was inside a bubble that was thousands of times smaller than a pinhead, and it was insanely hot and dense. Out of nowhere this little bubble started expanding. This expansion created what we know as the Universe. In such little time the Universe went from the size of an atom to the ginormous galaxy we have that is continuously growing.
There has been a lot of research done on the influence media can have on society, in particular the degrading images of women that are often seen in media. Since the second wave of the women’s rights movements these images were the object of scrutiny and an easy example of how women were viewed. In modern society where women have made many strides towards equality why are there still instances in popular media were women are negatively depicted? Have women come as far as they think? The popular sitcom The Big Bang Theory negatively depicts the female characters by reverting to a binary view of gender, in which the female characters are lacking, they can be beautiful or smart however they cannot be both.
