The Human Resource Function of Harrison Brothers Corporation Rabi Kiran Adhikari, EMBA, AIM 1. How does McCain view her role as human resource manager? As a human resource manager she seems interesting in promoting the organisational performance. She said she is so much busy in defining various gaps and making planning to fill those gaps. She seems much busy in interview and selection process and also helping in training to the new staffs. She is found to be initiating for establishing the systematic disciplinary action. So what I see the most critical part is they have high turnover in the organisation and HR manger is always busy in selection process and training. And she was not getting good time to develop the coordination. So she was not been able to find out the actual cause of turnover from the origination. Every other manager has the department head to assist them but in HR section no HR focal person working in the department. So the staffing and the coordination part is lack. 4. Analyse the data in Exhibit 1.4. What are its implications? From the table we can interpret the perception of the managers. Here store managers seem interesting in most of the portfolio. Store manager given equal ranking for HR function and conceptual part where as HR manager given high priority for staffing only and performance management only. The strategy of the organisation is directed towards change management but HR manager is more concentrate in the staffing and performance only. So as per my view the store manager is more aware in the change process. The turn over is high in organisation but both the manger are not giving it high importance because they rank compensation and safety in low. Store manger seems interested in giving training but HR manger not giving high importance. So in this table what we can say that the coordination is weak and the focus is different. Event though the focus

Human Resource departments focus organizing, controlling, and hiring employees in organizations. When organizations apply HR practices, the results are great client satisfaction, a good net margin, and reduced sickness absence (Richard and Johnson, 2001). Vermeeren et al. “Human resource management is defined as a strategic and coherent approach to the management of an organisation’s most valued assets-the people working there who individually and collectively contribute to the achievement of its objectives.” (Armstrong, 2009, p.4). Human resource is the employees within the business, Human Resource Management is the management of the employees and to emphasis what they can bring to the business and monitor how the business can improve. “The overall purpose of human resource management is to ensure that the organisation is able to achieve success through people” (Armstrong, 2009, p.8), if the workforce feel valued, the work performance will be of a higher standard, this in tale can then boost the businesses production.

In the Human Resources Management and Strategic Planning areas, the specific role of the human resources manager would be greatly involved. First, because the role is acting as a Human Resources Manager, the role in the Human Resources Management area would be recruiting, interviewing, hiring, consulting, strategic planning, and any other tasks that may be presented. Along with staffing the organization, this person is also responsible for creating and implementing all policies and procedures for employees to follow. This allows the organization to run smoothly and efficiently to complete the tasks it has to get done.
The roles of Human Resources (HR) professionals are changing. HR managers were previously viewed as the patrolling unit of executive management. Yaduvanshi (n.d.) says that “their role was associated with personnel and administration functions that organization viewed as paperwork. In this role, the HR professional served executive agendas well, but was frequently viewed as a road-block by the rest of the organization. While some need for this role occasionally remains, much of the HR role is transforming itself.”
