Our planet is filled with water to be more accurate 96.5% of our planet is water but we have a big problem only the 3% of all this water is fresh water. In recent decades the planet is facing very important climatic changes and water is a natural resource and therefore this has been severely damaged. Since the industrial revolution in1760 the water pollution has been greater, reaching our rivers, lakes, streams and seas. In the last decade man has developed new technology to try to solve this problem that is affecting many people around the globe. One of the most famous is the Slingshot created by Dane Kamen this machine can transform contaminated water, salt water and sewer water in freshwater. The Slingshot have a vapor compression distiller that is between two tanks these tanks are connected by tow hoses. One of the tanks contains freshwater and the other one have bad water using solar energy distills and vaporizes contamination, and makes freshwater. This invention is now well known in the …show more content…
However, some people say that the Slingshot is to premature and can’t change nothing in the environmental problem. It is true that this technology is still in development and Dean and his team still working to do a better job on the Slingshot but still, it has been proven that in case of natural disaster like an earthquakes and floods the Slingshot has been very useful. The Slingshot in those cases makes 250 gallons a day that can satisfy the needs of 100 people. Currently Kamen and his coworkers have joined strength whit Coca Cola looking for more resources to improve his invention. The water problem demands immediate action and if we don’t take action the problem can be worst. Based on data from UNICEF more than 40 percent of the African population has no access to potable water and the world population growth can exacerbate the
Water is one of the most precious resources, which support the life of almost everything in the world. Indeed, the world is covered by 75% water, but most of this water is not suitable for human consumption or use. On the same note, the world has been increasing its consumption of water due to the increasing population, leading to increased demands. The increased water consumption, which has been a result of high population, is worrying because the matter may lead to massive water shortages in the future.
Water may be a renewable resource, but the world’s supply of drinkable fresh water is being consumed more rapidly than ever before, and most importantly, more rapidly than it can be replenished. Only 2.5% of water on Earth is fresh
There is a water crisis which faces many parts of the world and it is a threat to survival of human beings since humans are primarily dependent on water. Shortage in drinking water is beginning to show its effects in first world countries, but is a current major problem facing lesser developed countries which have not taken drastic steps to harvest water and purify it to make it safe for human consumption. In developed countries the population growth has strained available water resources and stretched the ability of governments and private firms to provide safe drinking water to the vast majority of the population. Seventy one percent of
A slingshot is a weapon known for its efficiency and accuracy on the battlefront during the time of Ibrahim. In The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini the slingshot is not only a tool for fun, but also used for defense. In this story the slingshot is a symbol for bravery, loyalty, and resilience.
The great Leonardo da Vinci once said,”Water is the driver of Nature”, the saying which we can genuinely relate in the present days. Water has been one of the fundamental need of the nature without which life can not be possible. Due to rapid modernization

Sonny and the rest of the Rocket Boys had to follow through with many steps in order to complete their process of making rocks. With little knowledge, the rocket boys had to believe in themselves that they could succeed in building rockets. There were many steps the Rocket Boys had to go through like things such as, finding the right materials to use, learn more math and science equations, and most importantly, they had to learn how to build the rockets. With their knowledge and support from the community around them, the Rocket Boys had enough confidence to create many different rockets.
The problem stated in this video is the water-crisis in the southwest region of the United States of America. The southwest region of America is rapidly growing and booming, which makes the water crisis become more significant than ever before, because of the mass population heavily relying on the Colorado river and other water resources like groundwater. Therefore, leads to depletion of the water resources, which is bad because life depends on water. I believe this water crisis is happening because of cities in the southwest region of America relies on pumping water from the Colorado river and not being very self-sufficient with the water. Potential solutions to this problem is to be more self-sufficient with water by recycling water such
Our planet, Earth, is nicknamed the blue planet because of the large amounts of water existing on it. There are 332 million cubic miles of water on the surface of planet Earth (Lyons). Although we have so much water, many of the people on Earth don’t have access to it. More than a million people do not have access to safe and clean water. Planet Earth has millions of cubic miles of water but we are polluting our waters too much. Soon there may not be any clean and safe water for us to survive on. Water pollution is very harmful to the environment and it is causing many disasters on the planet. It is one of the most important problems the Earth is facing.

Solving the global water crisis moves beyond the technical feasibility stage.(2011). Trends Magazine, (104), 19-24.
The topic was relatively easy for me. I chose the topic of how to sling and swathe essentially to have something that even if I blanked on it I could do it in my sleep. That way I could still make the speech fit in the time frame. I could have used an actual scenario that I have run on as an EMT or I could have made sure to researched more on ways to improvise rather than just do what popped into my head as the best way to improvise in the situation that was given. This could be done by reading medical journals and other articles written by people in the emergency medical field to see what they have used in different situations to improvise.
Water is a critical source that is utilized by most living things on Earth to support it ways of live. The usage of water ranges from basic household needs to agricultural purposes. Water is one of the resources on the Earth that is becoming more and more scarce and the water available for usage is being further contaminated by pollution causing sickness and death.(World Health Organization).Countries are experiencing droughts affecting the water supply needed to maintain irrigation, thermoelectric power, and public supply. The definition of water pollution is the result of when too many toxic materials are present, in which negatively impact the water to be unsafe for its intended purpose, which may be drinking to industrial processes
Water covers 70% of our planet, and it is easy to think that it will always be plentiful. However, freshwater, what we drink, bathe in, irrigate our farm fields with makes up only 3% of the world’s water, and two-thirds of that is stored in frozen glaciers or unavailable for our use. Many of the water systems that keep ecosystems thriving and feed a growing human population have become stressed. Rivers, lakes and aquifers are drying up or becoming too polluted to use. Already, 80 countries suffer from water shortages that threaten health and economies while 40 percent of the world—more than 2 billion people—does not have access to clean water or sanitation
