A positive attitude is having an optimistic state of mind. Kelly shows signs of having a positive attitude while entering and coping with stressful situations at work. As previously stated, Victoria Day is one Deco’s busiest time of the year. With little notice, two of Kelly’s associates informed her that they wouldn’t be able to attend work. Empathically, she allowed her employees to take time off. Regardless of the busy situation, Kelly still took on the leadership role in her company’s success. Most people with a positive attitude are more likely to be successful in life. Those who disagree are less likely to be caring towards other's feelings. People who a have a positive outlook on life; in general are likable, more prosperous, and have a better sense of community. The importance of having a positive attitude is that it helps you improve your standard of living and someone else's day. In conclusion, just being positive helps everyone no matter have much you use. People who are positive towards themselves and others are more likable. Many have different daily life styles. Say if two same teenagers went to a interview for the same job. Teenager 1 is a young man that comes with the wrong type of clothing on; but his grades are amazing.

To no great surprise, the results of the StrengthsFinder survey revealed that my five strengths are; Restorative, Empathy, Harmony, Adaptability, and Arranger. While reading each of the strengths, I found myself agreeing aloud with each one. For example, in 2014 my family had a wonderful birthday/Spring Break trip planned for my son, three days prior my beloved grandmother passed away unexpectedly. I was faced with, what I consider, a difficult situation. How could I leave my mother and aunt with making funeral arrangements along? After months of planning, how could I tell my children that we would need to cancel our week long family vacation? In an effort to fulfill my obligations with everyone, I decided that we would go on our family vacation.

In “The Diary of a Young Girl” the author states, “But as you can see, Kitty, I'm still alive, and that's the main thing” (Frank). Since Anne had a positive attitude about the situation she was in, it helped her realize that she should be thankful for the little things. It also helped her to forget about the hardships and celebrate the jubilant times. Louise Ogawa had a cheerful attitude and she gained positive experiences during her trip. As she was looking at the river, it helped her forget for a while about the things she is about to face. In the article “How Your Attitude Affects Your Reality” Honoree Corder states, “When something less-than-fantastic happens, you can respond or react. Choose to respond in whatever way is appropriate and then press the reset button on your attitude” (Corder). During a hard time, having a change in attitude is key, and very important. Having positive attitude means thinking in a positive way only and not let the negative ones keep you down from something in your life. For example, “ West Point military cadets entering their first summer of training,” (Duckworth, 20). For these military cadets, they had to set their minds on positive thinking if they wanted to graduate from military school to become cadets. They had to get rid of all negative thinking that came to mind, like, they won’t be able to go through the exercises without failing to complete one. If they wanted to pass the military training they had to set their minds saying they can do it, they will pass everything, they will accomplish everything that was set for them to do. For those college students that struggle in their classes with the work they have, they should turn the negative into the positive. Say you are about to go on stage for a big performance and you think your going to fail and your scared. Having a negative attitude like that will make you fail and have a bad performance. So having a positive attitude can help one by believing in oneself and helping another have a positive attitude.

At the campus gym, I hand out equipment to students and check members into the facility. This summer, my bosses selected me to train new employees due to my work ethic and knowledge of policies and procedures. I work between fifteen and thirty hours over the summer, and aim for about ten hours during the semester. Rather boring at times, this job has taught me the importance of positivity. Being friendly, smiling and greeting participants as they enter or when helping them with their questions helps my shifts go by faster. Creating a positive mindset for everything I do makes any dull and monotonous task more enjoyable.
