Monday Morning Meeting: Students will walk into the classroom, hang up their bags and jackets then eat their breakfast. Once they have finished eating students, will trace their name then they will raise their hand to have a teacher check it when they have finished. When they have finished tracing their name, while waiting for others to finish they can write in their journals. I will let everyone know that we will be reading a story (Twas the Night Before Thanksgiving by Pil key) so they will need to come join me on the rug. We will all sit down in a circle and I will let them know they will need to turn on their listening ears. After we have read the story I will ask the students to go back to their seats let them know they will be handed
I walked into the classroom to see all my new pupils, I was nervous at first but then Miss Maudie introduced me to the class and everything was fine. I wrote my name on the board and told them what it said and where I am from. The class just murmured back to me. I started the day by reading the children a story about cats, I think they liked it but then again some of them did seem immune to imaginative literature. After reading I went to the blackboard and printed the alphabet in large
Today I arrived at 8: 30. I organised the classroom and made it ready for pupils to come. After assembly we did some time table practice. Next we had a new lesson for numeracy skills and I supported a group of students. L. O. Was about the name of 2 D shapes and how can we recognise them. First Miss B explained about the topic and she draw the shapes on the bored.
The classroom is well organized and orderly. Students have a routine that is followed each morning. John’s morning activities are without disruption, the morning routine works.
This is a 1st grade class made up of 12 first grade students. There are 7 Girls and 5 Boys. There is 1 male student with general academic IEP that covers all subjects as well as 1 male and 1 female student that have speech IEPs. The classroom is arranged in table seating with a large carpeted area in the front of the classroom for group learning. This lesson will be taught in a group setting at the carpet.
Before the children come to school, I will give myself thirty minutes for planning. During my planning time, I will review my day’s plans and ensure I have all necessary materials are available to the children. When the children arrival to school, I will greet them and assist them if need with storing their belonging. Breakfast will be prepared for the children with serving bowls to sever themselves. When the children are finish eating breakfast, the quite centers, such as math and manipulatives and literacy centers, will be available for the children to enter. At nine o’clock I will signal for the children to store their materials away and we will transition to having our group meeting. During our group meeting, we have an open discussion
On September 1, 2012, I walked into my fifth grade teacher’s classroom for the first time in my life. Mrs.Cullen was standing in the front of the door with open arms ready to welcome her new fifth grade students. As I made my way to my desk and sat down next to Charlie Schutt and Quin Timmerman, I got the feeling that middle school would be a time of talking to some of my best friends and cruising through classes. As the school year progressed, and classroom seats changed, my thought of how Middle school would be changed as well. On the first day Mrs.Cullen explained our schedule, Homework detentions, and demerits. After about fifty questions, she sent us off to our first class, and the first step of our Middle School journey. The fifth grade
After twelve year old Elie Wiesel’s instructor, Moshie the Beadle, returns from a near death experience by the Nazis, Elie’s people looks over the fact. They remain calm and compliant while the world, unknowingly, falls down around them. This short story tells of Wiesel’s personal struggle as a Jew sent to the Nazi death camp in Auschwitz.
Journal one of the Westminster College class EDU 562 Field Experience was related to observation and participation with a first grade classroom, on Monday, January 4, 2016. Upon arrival the class teacher provided instructions to assist in the set up of the classroom January calendar, make a graph of the lunch choices, and to pass out morning work for the students to complete as they arrived in the classroom. At 8:30 a.m. the teacher welcomed most of the students with excitement as they entered the room. She informed the students in detail and repeated the routine and morning arrival instructions. Once everyone arrived, the teacher rang a bell which symbolized it
At 9:45 AM, everyone will meet in an opening exercise in the auditorium, including singing, announcements, etc. At that point the kids will be dismissed and they will go to the kid’s area and after a brief character talk (on aspects of character such as courage,
Today was my first day with my coop since she was out sick last week, and meeting her students, I began my day observing. The current chapter that the students are starting is part of the SLOW program; therefore the students need to take a pre-test before they begin learning the chapter. This test will be graded but will not count toward the students' grade in the class. Once the students take the post-test, Mrs. Falchek will compare the pre-test grades and the post-test grades. This information will be use to help her evaluate her lesson and make the necessary modifications.
Throughout my observation of the classroom, I notice the classroom has routine schedule. The students come in take their coat off, go to the bathroom and wash their hands. Next, he students sit down at a table
The most delicious meal of the year has got to be on Thanksgiving day. I look forward to it all year and while I love Thanksgiving for other reasons too, food is high up there on the list. I purposely wear some pants that are loose in the waist and a shirt that is forgiving around the stomach. My favorite thing is when I walk into my aunt's house and the smells of scrumptious food creeps in your nose and gives you are warm feeling in your heart. The traditional meal for me every year is a little different from most people's’ meals because I’m extremely picky. So when I round up my plate it consists of a beautiful spiral ham piece cooked to perfection and has a sweet bacon taste that is out of this world. Then I pile on the mash potatoes and
When I first read that we are doing morning pages I didn’t know what to think. I honestly didn’t think I had the time nor anything to write about. My grades are important to me though so I knew I needed to get them done every morning. When I picked up the pen and started writing I had a hard time stopping.
On Monday,October 14, 2013 at 7:00 P.M., I attended the Bradford Area School District school board meeting at Floyd C. Fretz Middle School in the large group instruction room. This meeting was important for the teachers, students, and the schools in the district. It provided information that correlated to the material in class and a perspective on what situations as a future teacher I may experience.
There are three teachers in the classroom, one does reading/lesson circle with a small group of students, another does arts and crafts, and one of them circulates throughout the room helping students with their work-plans. The teacher that circulates around the room all the time appears to be the head teacher and when a conflict arises she is the one to mediate it. The way that the teachers speak with the children is as if they are equals, they aren’t talked down to and the students give the teachers complete respect.
