This Essay is to explain the Army Values and how they pertain to the mistake I made. In the US army we are taught to live by the 7 army values. They are broken down to us in the acronym ‘LDRSHIP’. Loyalty “Bear true faith and allegiance to the U.S. constitution, the Army, and other soldiers.” Duty “Fulfill your obligations.” Respect “Treat people as they should be treated.” Selfless Service “Put the welfare of the nation, the Army and your subordinates above your own.” Honor “Live up to the army values.” Integrity “Do what’s right legally and morally.” and Personal Courage “Face fear, danger or adversity (physical or moral).” We are all drilled on these 7 army values from day one of basic training. It requires you to be candid and sincere with your peers, subordinates, and superiors. Integrity calls upon you to be honest and honorable in word and deed at all times. Integrity means doing the right thing even if there is no one watching. To have integrity a person must have the ability to distinguish the difference between right and wrong, so that when a controversial issue arises the right and honorable thing will be done. It is an important role in the values because if one does not have integrity they cannot be trusted on in a time of need or when you are working side by side with them in every day work. What they say cannot be taken on word alone. I usually take my integrity very seriously, and it makes me sick to think that I gave that up for something so stupid. We must have integrity because if we don’t we are untrustworthy and unreliable. These are 2 things I never want associated with my name. Finally I have been doing research for this and other items in my plan of action. I found a section of TRADOC Reg 350-10 it states “2-14 The success of institutional training depends on having experienced SGLs, SSGLs and instructors who are leadership mentors, role models, and teachers. Integrity is having a standard of morals and ethics, and living by them. It is a willingness and ability to do the right thing even when it is hard. The story To Kill a Mockingbird is filled with integrity. For example, many of the people in Maycomb share a prejudiced sense of integrity when it comes to its racist views. However, it is Atticus Finch’s integrity throughout the novel that really embodies the idea of moral and ethical principles. He puts into action every moral idea that he supports. Atticus is a role model to not only his children, but to the whole town of Maycomb, and his integrity is a great part of what makes him such a good example. Integrity
A person of integrity does exactly what he says and says exactly what he means. There is no conflict between his thoughts and actions. His actions are consistent with the values he professes. According to Dr. William Manninger, A building without integrity may receive structural damage, or even collapse, in a storm. Similarly, people without integrity are blown about by the winds of misfortune and destroyed by catastrophes, for they lack the firmness, solidity, and strength of character to weather any storm. This means that integrity is one of the six essential qualities that are the key to success.
Integrity can be defined as "an uncompromising adherence to a code of moral, artistic or other values, utter sincerity, honesty and candor, avoidance of deception, expediency, artificiality or shallowness of any kind" (Webster's 3rd New International Dictionary 1174). Having integrity means you are true to yourself and would do nothing that demeans or dishonors you. When employees are asked what they want from leaders it is integrity. Qualities change across culture and time, but what people say they want most in American society is integrity. When people are asked to define integrity, the word they mention most frequently is honesty. The leader with integrity always tells the truth as he or she believes it to be. Integrity is important in leadership as it helps build trust and confidence. It is integrity that describes how words and actions are consistent with a leader’s behavior or intentions. It displays our character letting others know how we will react and if we will be one to adhered to what is ethical regardless of the situation. Integrity can affect others, influencing a culture’s values and service. One story that comes to mind happened in 1982 with the maker of Tylenol. Johnson & Johnson reacted quickly when it discovered the Tylenol was tainted. Their response included recalling all Tylenol from stores, hospital, and all resources. Additionally, they pulled their advertisements and stop all production. This caused Johnson & Johnson millions.
Integrity is how somebody lives their life. In this life we live, we face choices every day that only we can answer. We dictate how we run our own lives, and they way we run them defines us. Integrity is doing the right thing versus the wrong thing. People, if nothing else, can always have their pride, their integrity. It is something that means a lot to some people and then nothing to others. The ones who value their integrity highly are the good people in this world, and the opposite is true for those who do not value their integrity.

Some particular value issues arise depending on the technical project or structure(s) being implemented within this watershed. The projected team lead was instructed to gather information on this watershed through pre-established data sites, topographical maps, and satellite images in order to save money and time. The watershed is comprised of extremely steep hills and cliffs which make navigating through the watershed difficult which explains why the team lead was instructed to acquire information in this way. For my life the thing that I value is my family and friends, exercising and participating in sports, and finally going to and getting an education. I chose these specific topics because I feel like these are incredibly important to almost everyone in the world. Each of the values have a enormous amount of appreciation because first of all, people need all three, family, exercise, and education. I have never felt so close to my family before, because they have been preparing me to be able to leave and somehow manage to stay a float when it was time to grow up. Being open to change and improvements allows me to complete work assignments in a more efficient manner while offering additional benefits to my supervisors, co-workers and clients. I am able to adapt to the personality and work habits of co-workers and supervisors. Each person possesses their own strengths and weaknesses and adapting personal behaviours to accommodate others is part of what it takes to work effectively as a team. New plans, concepts, priorities, and work habits can promote faith among workers that everyone is committed to making the workplace a better place to work.

Foodies Forward believes that all families should have the right to fresh and nutritious food and be able to cook healthy yet affordable meals. Its mission is to educate and empower families of underserved communities in Central Texas through cooking. Foodies Forward aims to help families develop healthy eating habits promote family closeness, and inspire them to become agents of change by fighting food scarcity issues in their community. Cook Healthier is Foodies Forward’s weekly after-school program, which teaches students healthy eating practices as well as provides a space for them to cook healthy and affordable meals. Furthermore, students will take what they learn from the Cook Healthier program as well as groceries from the Foodies kitchen and share and practice cooking with their family.
