As Stephen Gardiner once said, “The industrial revolution was another one of those extraordinary jumps forward in the story of civilization.” The Industrial Revolution was in fact an extraordinary jump in the development of the U.S. It created a foundation for what the U.S is today socially, economically, and politically. The Industrial Revolution played a major role in the industrialization and modernization and still has effects to this day. These effects lead to more trade, better transportation, and modernization. It also had had many negative effects on America and England as well. These effects mainly focus on the social side of the Industrial Revolution. These effects include child labor, unfair wage, poor living conditions and poverty. When both the positive and negative effects are put together as a whole, the positive effects outweigh the negative. Mainly because they had a bigger effect on America and the world as a whole, and still affect us today. Because of the Industrial Revolution wages are more fair, living conditions are better, Manufacturing has drastically improved and children are no longer allowed to work in factories.

There were many inventions created to make life a lot easier, the main inventions were the steam engine. The steam engine was used in many industrial settings but mainly for mining. Another great invention was the cotton gin which is a machine which separates cotton fibers rom their seeds. This helped in making many cotton goods such as clothing during the industrial revolution. As well as inventions transport was improved and brought in. The improvement of living standards and education were raised very high. All children must now get a basic education and were all forced to take part in schooling. Working conditions improved majorly with safety. The working conditions for people during this time were now safer and more enjoyable. Hygiene improved rapidly as sewer systems improved during time. Soon after time better food and diet was found as there was a big change in the food produced as well as farming and crops. Many people discovered better medicine which helped with both children and adults’ health which meant better living. It was characterised by the use of steam power, growth of factories, and mass production of manufactured goods. The steam train used to transport people or goods over long distances on land.

The industrial revolution brought with it change, whether that change was positive or negative is questionable however it did change the world as it was known. The production of steel, sewing machines, the telephone, and the light bulb were made during this time. People had to make these supplies fast because there was a demand for it all. Children, younger than 10 started to work for more than 12 hours a day and got paid less than their parents. They worked in unsafe conditions, also may have lose limbs, and their life. This was the beginning of the Industrial Age.

The Industrial Revolution had a negative impact on society. Three of these negative impacts were that people lived in tenements, working conditions were horrific, and children were forced to work. The Industrial Revolution changed the lives of thousands in a depressing way.

The Industrial Revolution had several types of impacts on people, from running a family to the ground, with no money left even for food, to making some people richer than ever before. The Revolution made people’s life much better. Some positive impacts include, making the government more money, the better education, technology advancement, and society uplifting as a whole. Some people may beg to differ, but the Industrial Revolution changed many people’s life for the better.

The Industrial Revolution took place during the late 1800’s and the early 1900’s and was considered to be the “New Industrial” or the “Modern Revolution.” Many positive aspects were brought to the economy at the time due to this occurring some in which being machinery, technology, production of goods, and even an increase in performance rates. These positive aspects were just some that had an outlasting effect on the economy as a whole. The Industrial Revolution did not just have a positive outlasting effect it also affected in many negative ways. This revolution in not just directly affect the economy, rather directly affected the farmers, the working-class, and the middle-class, which then led the economy to be affected as a result.

It is usually thought of as having mostly or only positive impacts on Europe. Although the revolution did have many positive impacts, it had its fair share of negative impacts as well.
