In this essay I will be exploring the reasons as to why some people would argue that a certain person or people are to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet.

The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a book of fate and how everyone in the world affects the happenings of this world. The author of this extraordinary book is William Shakespeare. Although Romeo and Juliet killed themselves, there were many people responsible for their deaths. It is arguable that the parents of the two lovers, Friar Laurence, and Romeo and Juliet themselves were the most responsible, some could say that the other main characters like Mercutio, Benvolio, Tybalt, the Nurse, and Paris were involved as well. There were many people responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet, although they took their own lives, they were not all to blame.

What is most responsible for the two lovely lover-Romeo and Juliet’s death? In my opinion, there is no one particular person to really blame on their death. However, it is every single person are should be blamed for the deaths of both Romeo and Juliet. If I was answering the question of who were the few most responsible people for their tragedy-it would be three people. Because of people’s decision and different point of view, the people most responsible for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet are Lady Capulet, Nurse, and Friar Lawrence.

In this essay I will be explaining who I think is responsible for Romeo and Juliet's death. To start off I believe Lord Capulet is responsible for both of their deaths. I believe Lord Capulet is responsible for Romeo's death because, Lord Capulet never wanted Juliet to marry Romeo, Romeo killed Tybalt ( Juliet's cousin), and Romeo was a Montugue while Juliet and Lord Capulet were part of the Capulet group. I believe Lord Capulet was also responsible for Juliet's death because he was always telling her how he wanted her to marry Paris instead of Romeo and he was also convincing Juliet that Paris would treat her better.

The ancestors and parents of both feuding families are at fault for the death of Romeo and Juliet. Both of the families ancestors began the mutiny several years before. Additionally, the parents pressured the lovers of choosing a partner on “ their side” without being courteous of the lovers thoughts and actions. Although the ancestors and parents caused all this chaos, nonetheless they possibly had the duo’s best interest at heart.

Juliet is the character most to blame for the tragic events in Romeo and Juliet because her family is a huge rival to the Montague family, her plan to not marry Paris goes too far, and she deceives her father.

The Nurse is described as the servant and guardian of Juliet, but treats Juliet more as a friend than a daughter. This is enumerated when the Nurse helps Juliet and Romeo, “ Your lady mother is coming to your chamber: the day is broke be wary, look about” (3.5.39-40). This reveals how the Nurse acted more as a friend than a mother figure and betrayed the capulets. This also displays how she contributed to the demise of Romeo and Juliet by helping them pursue a relationship that was technically forbidden. Later, after that the Nurses true intentions and characteristics come out when she declaims “ Faith here it is. Romeo is banished and all the world to nothing” (3.5.214-215). Because of this it causes Juliet not to trust the nurse anymore and brings out the Nurses true characteristics greedy and misleading. Subsequently this shows how the Nurses misleading and greediness help lead toward the demise of the two

The Nurse is the only other person that knew about the secret relationship between Romeo and Juliet. She was sort of Juliet’s messenger in the story, she told Romeo about the marriage and when he was going to see Juliet again. Then towards the ending of the story she started realizing that Juliet’s parents were not going to let her marry anyone but Paris. So Nurse tried to help Juliet realize that, and it only made Juliet more upset and run off to Friar. When Juliet was upset she told Nurse that she was going to pay respects, nurse knew that wasn’t true and did nothing about it, if Nurse would have stopped Juliet from going to Friar she could have prevented the whole plan and stopped the events leading to Romeo and Juliet’s death. But Romeo and Juliet made it very difficult for the Nurse and Friar help them because they wanted nothing but to be together and they wouldn’t wait for anything.

Tybalt is Juliet's cousin that is a negative and selfish person, he tries to cause a lot of drama such as in Act 1, Scene 5 were Tybalt tries to make a big deal that Romeo, a Montague, is at a party held at a Capulet’s house. In Act 3, Scene 1 Tybalt tries to start a fight with Romeo but ends up fighting Mercutio and killing him, this make Romeo furious so he fights Tybalt. Romeo wins this fight killing Tybalt and that gets Romeo banished from Verona. This makes it extremely hard for anyone to communicate to Romeo. Tybalt makes it really hard for people to get along and for Romeo to know what is going on in Verona.
