Friar Laurence is truly to blame for the tragic events because he married Romeo and Juliet, he gave Juliet the plan that lead to her and Romeo’s death, and didn’t tell anyone about the events taking place.

Also apart from Romeo, Friar Lawrence’s actions as well have an impact on the story he wants to do good things but ended up getting some people killed. Friar Lawrence is most at fault for many obvious reasons due to his actions that are carried throughout the story. Friar Lawrence started Romeo and Juliet’s relationship by convincing the young lovers to deceive their parents and get married in secret. He then continued to set up a fake death for Juliet so she would not have to marry Paris. It was Friar’s responsibility to notify Romeo of these plans, which he failed to do. This lead to the death of Romeo and Juliet.

The tragic death of Romeo and Juliet were caused by many people that took part in the play. Yes, Romeo and Juliet themselves made their own decisions which led to different outcomes. The question is, “Who is responsible for their deaths?”. From the evidence that was in the book, Friar Lawrence was the cause for their death. The Friar helps Juliet in making decisions and creating ideas of his owns which eventually led to this hot mess. Ultimately, the Friar, being the optimistic one, is responsible for Romeo’s and Juliet’s deaths.

Romeo and Juliet is a story of true love, and bad decisions, which in the end lead them to their deaths. We, as the audience have to wonder, who is really to blame for this. In my opinion the finger points at Friar Lawrence. I believe this because of the fact that he married the two of them, he gave Juliet the ludicrous plan at the end of the play, and because he left her alone in the Capulet tomb.
