Why George Should Not Have Killed Lennie's Death

But if the other outcome is worse, you're obligated/called to do the right/more humane outcome. Most people would agree with this statement in almost every other situation, but when you substitute it into context here it's no different. Many people who have read the book agrees George and Lennie had a special connection/best friends and many say friends don't kill each other. When you take a deeper look at this statement it justifies even more why George did the right thing, and shouldn't get punished. Since they had a special connection, George cared for him so much that he knew the right thing to do is to let him go and die happily, peacefully, with no struggle. Also by someone who cares for him, then someone who hates him, no matter how much it would hurt himself to do it.

By killing Lennie in John Steinbeck’s novel Of Mice And Men, George protected himself, prevented unnecessary harm from coming to Lennie, and ultimately, he let Lennie die happy.

In the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck, George and Lennie learn to travel and experience the world together as they take on a new job working on a ranch in central California "bucking barley" for the ranch owner and his son. Lennie, not being able to control his actions, hurts too many people and things and men were chasing after the two, so George decides to take action and shoot Lennie. Although some may disagree, George did the right thing by shooting Lennie because he could not have avoided hurting someone else in the future, he could not eventually learn that the things he did were wrong due to his disability, and he could not learn to eventually control his own strength.

In the story of Mice and Men, George may have taken Lennie's life, but he made the decision for the better interest of his friend. He knew that Curley and his men would kill Lennie, he would suffer and/or be placed in jail. In conclusion, I believe that overall in the novella Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck ,George was not a good friend to Lennie. George did take care of Lennie but,in my point of view, not because he actually cared for Lennie.George never once mentions how he cares for Lennie or how much he loves his companionship but does mention how easy life would be without him and if if they were related he would kill himself .Yes George looked over him and stuck by him but in most cases Lennie would have been better of being with someone

George can be described as the brains of the partnership, while Lennie is more of the muscle. In the story Lennie has a fascination with feeling soft objects. A doctor or other person went against their wishes and ended their life without their consent. The doctor may believe that that is what is best for the victim at the time, but the victim and their family may say otherwise. There are also cases where the victim was not conscious and was not able to tell the doctor what they want with themselves and then it’s up to their family. There are times when family- or in Lennie’s case, friend- thinks they know what is best but they really do not. It could cause some legal issues later that could lead to massive amounts of guilt for ending that person’s life or even more legal punishments later on.

Warren Leen Hill, a man with an IQ of 70, was put to death Tuesday for a murder despite international protest that Georgia was executing a man with a child's intellect(Georgia executes man with low IQ). Georgia should have not executed a man with such a low IQ because he did not know what he was doing.
