Why George should not have killed Lennie in the book Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck Would killing your bestfriend the one you do everything together solve a problem when they get into some trouble? George and Lennie are good friends and then Lennie gets into deep trouble when he kills someone on the rach causing George to kill him because he think she has no other choice because the ranchers go after him. George and Lennie travel together everywhere and go everywhere with each other and they also go to the ranch to work while they are at the ranch some things go on to cause George to kill Lennie, Lennie could have been put in jail or killed by some of the angry workers so George killed Lennie for his own good. George should not have not killed Lennie because there could have been others options to survive or other things to do like run away or go to another town. …show more content…

Lance Anderson a 63 year old man who shot his wife and sister because of “mercy killings” told his wife, 68 year old Maxine Anderson “ I’m sending you home” (Qtd. Serna). Just like when George tells Lennie to say something and then shoots him same idea with the Andersons. A pharmaceutical millionaire Gigi Jordan admits to killing her 8 year old autistic son a defense lawyer Allen Brenner asks her “ Did you climb on top of him pinch his nose, grab his jaw to forcibly open his mouth and force liquified drugs down his throat?’’(Qtd. Rosenburg). This shows how she forced her son to die even though he was living fine, just like Lennie when George killed him but there was other options. The evidence shows how Lennie should not have been killed because “mercy killings” are wrong and that there are other options George could choose
