Oprah Winfrey is an African American woman who made it big through her daytime talk show. While being famously known for her large-scale giveaways and interviews with celebrities, Oprah is also a philanthropist and plays a role in American history. Oprah Winfrey is important to American history because she established the ‘Oprah Effect’ (1), has started many charitable organizations (4), broke down barriers supporting gay rights as a Christian (8), and having her own hit TV talk show (2). In doing this, she has helped people learn to accept others who are different (2).

Many heroes exists in todays world. Some are just fictional but the real ones are the ones worth mentioning. A true hero is a person who is willing to sacrifice everything for the well being of others. they're giving personalities cause them to give everything they can to help others. They are constantly in a race to fight for something beneficial to all.

Heroes are especially popular in Greek myths and legends. Most showed generous behavior, even if it was not obvious until the lesson was learned. I believe Oprah Winfrey is a hero because she uses her past experiences to inform, support, and help others, uses her money, fame, and time to help people, and shows incredible emotional and spiritual strength.

Oprah is a very persuasive, kind, and giving person. Oprah has went through horrible days such as being abused, deaths. But those things have built her up into a successful person. Meaning she has a amazing tv show/ production and she is rich. Oprah has donated 40 million dollars to charity. She has also given 6 million dollars to build a new arts and music production for a school in Kosciusko, Mississippi.

A hero is someone that shows honor, bravery and provides an assist to those in need. In today’s world, society likes to follow celebrities and stars. People aspire to be them because society believe’s that these are our hero’s. People who have done little to nothing are seen as our Idols.
