The witches play the major part towards Macbeths downfall and Lady Macbeth plays the most part. Witches seemed to have prolonged appetite to create mishaps. We don’t know for sure but we clearly know that the witches were planting seeds for another civil war. No matter how noble a person might be there’s always one thing one might want. In this case Macbeth was ambitiously triggered to become the King of Scotland. The witches have a mixed negative conspiracy mindset and they also cannot be ignored since Macbeth starts to gain hope. Macbeth denies to take any negative step to become the king of Scotland. As he says “If chance will have me king, why, chance may crown me, without my stir.” (I.III.7) Readers identify that Macbeth plays a very loyal role until this point where he condemns to such actions that might create any negative conflicts. Some of the readers might pity Macbeth since he himself doesn’t know where he’ll end up, for the most part we all know that it wouldn’t be good. We see this as a rise for Macbeth since he refuses to be a part of any actions that may harm another individual. After he speaks with Lady Macbeth he gets influenced and agrees to kill King Duncan out of ambition and greed. The onset of this tragedy, Shakespeare portrays Macbeth as a loyal and respected soldier. For instance, Malcolm states, "Who like a good and hardy soldier, fought 'gainst my captivity- hail brave friend! For brave Macbeth." (Act I, Scene iii) This quote renders that Macbeth was looked up upon as a hero or as a person who preached in the name of the king as an acquiescent subject. Also through many different dialogues, it was shown the number of admiration people had for him. Duncan, the King of Scotland, wanted "to pronounce Macbeth with his former title" and greet him with a superior name. As a result, Duncan trusted Macbeth with open arms and believed he was the apt person to carry the title of Thane of Cawdor. However, after Banquo and Macbeth stumbled upon the three witches they excited a dark ambition inside of Macbeth to reach his objective and later called upon his wife, Lady Macbeth, to become his partner on his journey.

Macbeth is seen to be Shakespeare’s profound vision of evil which is based on greed and ambition. The play revolves around a man’s overwhelming desire to become a king. 1. Many things change throughout the play of Macbeth. One of the first ones is how Macbeth’s peer treated and viewed him. At the beginning of the play his brothers in arms viewed Macbeth as a respected Captain and friend. He was in charge of them, they “feared him.” And then the tragedy of him killing Duncan happened. Macbeth went basically insane after that and when he started acting suspicious and killing families, his brothers began to pity him and his sanity. At the end of the play when Macduff killed Macbeth none of them felt upset, just pitied Macbeth and the loss of his wife and his sanity. Another moment of periptery is Macbeth’s relationship with his wife. Lady Macbeth didn’t want to kill anybody at the beginning of the play but he dragged her into the mess. Towards the end of the play, Macbeth started to fear that his wife would give them away because she was starting to go insane. Then when she killed herself, Macbeth only seemed to pity her and her life, not even caring that she committed suicide. Another moment is actually how the audience feels for Macbeth. Macbeth at the beginning of the play is a respected warrior who feared nothing. Then after the murder of Duncan, he begins to become a coward and the way he talks and the things he does makes the readers pity him. Even if the things that he does are his fault, the audience still has to feel bad for him.

For my essay four I decided to read “Macbeth” by William Shakespeare. The first time I read it, I kind of understood what it was about, but didn’t really understand it that well. So after doing some research about William Shakespeare and “Macbeth,” I re-read “Macbeth,” as well as watched the movie. After this I wondered what William Shakespeare was trying to portray by writing “Macbeth”. At first I thought that he was trying to present the audience with an experience of himself or he was writing about someone else, but after conducting some research I realized that there were many reasons why he could have written Macbeth.

The tragedy, as it is considered by critics of yesterday 's literary world, frown upon the evil dimension of conflict, offering a dark and atmosphere of a world dominated by the powers of darkness. Macbeth, more so than any of Shakespeare 's other tragic protagonists, has to face the powers and decide: should he give in or should he resist? Macbeth understands the reasons for resisting evil and yet he proceeds with a disastrous plan, instigated by the prophecies of the three Weird Sisters. Thus we must ask the question: If Macbeth is acting on the impulses stimulated by the prophecies of his fate, is this Shakespearean work of art really a Tragedy?
