The treaty that lead to world war 2. The treaty of versailles was unfair towards Germany and caused disagreement, land lose, and a worldwide economic collapse, the treaty was just another spark to another war. The treaty of versailles caused world war 2 was because of disagreements and laws in Germany. One great example shows, “Germany must not exceed in one hundred thousand men including officers”(Doc B). When the treaty was made it stated that Germany had to reduce their military strength over a half which during that time was a joke. Not only does there military reduce in size but also, “The Allied and associated governments affirm and Germany accepts the responsibility of Germany and her allies for causing all the lose and responsibility of Germany and her allies for causing all the lose damage”(Doc d). The Allied powers sought to blame Germany for there crimes of causing the war, however that information is to be false. Russia actually started it when they claimed war on Austria Hungary, but even still Germany was blamed for causing the war which made people in Germany very angry. Lastly, “ The allies continued in the years after 1919 to regard treaty as an international contract but most Germans could even name provisions”(Doc d. N.pag). The treaty was still into play for only a few years only to soon be broken. Disagreements helped spark world war 2 as Germans took the blame and made them pay which aggravated them causing hatred towards the allies. Another reason why the treaty helped start world war 2 was because of …show more content…

The post war world ll division impacted many countries all over the world. Everything started when all the parties came together and decided to combine forces and came to an agreement for one purpose. When they reached the purpose the congress party turned brattle field to one question what kind of society do we want to create? This one question created evolution, battle, and a lot of enemies. Often people had different visions, ideas and methods this influenced leaders for many decades and impacted politically and the economic development of these countries.
World War I left a sour taste in the mouths of Americans; many felt that the United States had joined for the wrong reasons, and this disillusionment led to a return to isolationism. Americans looked to avoid entanglements in European affairs that could potentially pull them into another world war. Combined with the effects of the Great Depression and the economic troubles that spanned the globe, Americans were determined to avoid foreign affairs and remain neutral when conflict began. However, as dictatorships began to rise globally, the United States found it increasingly difficult to remain neutral and isolationist. Though the United States attempted to remain neutral in world affairs following World War I, the threat to democracy and rise
There were other reasons that the Versailles treaty upset Germany and therefore contributes to World War II. For example, the territorial losses, the economic losses and the war guilt helped cause World War II. However the main underlying cause of the War was the War Guilt. In this the Germans felt humiliated and angry. Adolf Hitler was able to use this anger to to build German pride and strengthen the military. This evidently led to the formation of the Nazi party. The Germans were suffering from the losses the Treaty of Versailles and as a result Adolf Hitler took power which later he would help cause World War
During World War 2, the Treaty of Versailles was unfair to the axis powers. Inflation and war debt just made things worse. The German population wanted a leader who could save them from this misery, so they chose Hitler and that’s how Germany became powerful after its fall, and how Hitler began his control over Europe. Appeasement is to make someone less angry by agreeing to their demands. Collective security is the cooperation of several countries in an alliance to strengthen the security of each. The war was brought and the best response to aggression was collective security.
From 1939 to 1945, the WWII era experienced some positive and some negative changes in minority groups in the political, economic, and social categories.
“The Allies continued in the years after 1919 to regard the Versailles Treaty as an international contract… but most germans saw it as an atrocitus injustice, an evil thing which must be destroyed.” (Document D). After World War One ended in 1918, the allies found a way to punish Germany, and that was through the Versailles Treaty. The germans did not like this treaty and saw it as an act of war. These and many more events eventually led to World War Two. So, how did the Versailles Treaty help cause World War Two? The Versailles Treaty helped cause World War 2 because of territorial loss, shrinking of military, and paying of war reparations.
As stated by Roosevelt, “We have nothing to fear but fear itself.” Fear and paranoia were only one force adding pressure to Europe before it burst into full out war. Anyone with extensive knowledge on The Great War could probably give a list of copious causations, among those being nationalistic tendencies, the alliance system, paranoia, and the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. World War I was primarily sparked through the assassination, with underlying tones of nationalism, alliances, and paranoia fueling the fire.
The treaty solved none of the major problems which caused the Great War in the first place. France, Great Britain, and Italy wanted to make sure Germany would never be a military threat again so they wanted to avenge the war by making Germany take all the blame for starting the war. Germany was not even permitted to send delegates to the conference. Huge reparation payments were awarded the allies and Germany was never able to make the payments which only weakened her poor economic situation, and it became worse with the onset of the Depression of the 1930s. All of Germany's colonies were taken from them and they were not permitted to have a military other than a national police force.
World War I is estimated to have killed to an extent of 10 million people (background essay) and costing up to 186 billion dollars. WWI began in 1914 and lasted until 1918 and regarded the European Empires. The annihilation which took place in the European empires can be contributed to the unification and exclusion of countries, the desire for world dominance, and the tensions surrounding militarism.
One of the major events that led to the outbreak of World War II was the treaty of Versailles. The Treaty of Versailles was one of the peace treaties that ended of World War I. It ended the war between Germany and the Allied Powers. The Germans were very much upset because their land was taken away from them. Basically, the treaty forced the Germans to take the blame for World War I. The Germans had no say so in regards to the treaty and had to compensate the other states for their damages. Treaty of Versailles crippled Germany economically and militarily, the intention was to prevent Germany from becoming strong enough to be a threat to its neighbors for the expected future. Hitler wanted to get Germany land that was lost, so it triggered
World War One was an event that devastated the globe in such a way that was felt by all of the individual nations of the world. Many events prior to the beginnings of the war acted as a precursor to the chaos. The late eighteenth century and all throughout the nineteenth century was an era of revolution. Ordinary citizens and others hoping for liberty and justice in all of their respective nations found their voices. Out of the great “new” societies the people established arose a mutual sense of nationalism and also a state of vulnerability. The vulnerability factor brought about a system of alliances, whereas the snarky nationalism birthed a period of competitive colonization and festered until it became a dangerous weapon known as militarism.
Irrational decisions lead to more irrational decisions. World War 1 is a prime example of this due to how it all started. Just like all other wars, the causes are cumulative factors that instigate a conflict. In the case of World War 1, the leading factors were extreme nationalism, increased militarism, and threatening alliances.
The Treaty of Versailles, which ended WWI, led to the start of WWII. The Germans as one of the axis powers in world war II were the cause of world war II. The Treaty of Versailles treated Germany harshly in at least three ways is Territorial Loss, Military Reduction and Economic Reparation and War Guilt.
Prior to 1941, the majority of Americans regarded the conflict in Europe to be something that the United States was to stay out of. Because the war was on the other side of the Atlantic, the conflict was seen as irrelevant to the American lifestyle. Aside from the fact that the war was across the world, the American people were only just getting out of the greatest economic depression the United States had ever seen; it seemed absurd to become involved in yet another war when the economy was so fragile. As seen in Fortune Magazine’s 1939 survey on what the U.S. should do for the war (Document 1), twenty-nine percent of people said to sell supplies to both sides (cash-and-carry) while another twenty-five percent of people said not to give aid
The Second World War was the first and only conflict that saw the use of atomic weapons of mass destruction. During the war, Japan refused to surrender and as result, America dropped two atomic bombs on Japan at Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Seemingly, this was to prevent a full invasion of japan, which would undoubtedly cost substantial American lives. In addition to the warfare advantages this would provide, this also handed diplomatic advantages to the United States. (Doc E)
