Cardinal James Gibbons (1834–1921)

Gibbons, James (Cardinal). An American prelate of great celebrity; born in Baltimore, July 23, 1834; died in 1921. He was raised to the cardinalate June 30, 1886. Among his published works are: ‘The Faith of Our Fathers’; ‘Our Christian Heritage’; ‘The Ambassador of Christ’; etc.
