Dirck Volkertszoon Coornhert (1522–1590)

Coornhert, Dirck Volkertszoon (kōrn’hert). A Dutch poet and scholar (1522–90). By his poetical writings, ‘Book of Songs’ (1575), ‘Right Use and Abuse of Worldly Possessions’ (1585), and several dramas, as also by his translations from Boccaccio and the classics, he earned the title of “restorer of the Dutch language.”
