Frederic Kidder (1804–1885)

Kidder, Frederic. An American prose-writer; born in New Ipswich, NH, 1804; died in Melrose, MA, 1885. An antiquarian who gave much attention to the language and religion of the New England Indians. He was author of ‘The Expeditions of Capt. John Lovewell’ (1865); ‘History of the First New Hampshire Regiment in the War of the Revolution’ (1868); ‘History of the Boston Massacre, March 5, 1770’ (1870).
