George Wilkins Kendall (1809–1867)

Kendall, George Wilkins. An American writer; born at Mount Vernon, NH, about 1809; died at Oak Springs, TX, Oct. 22, 1867. He was founder of the New Orleans Picayune, which became under his direction one of the leading journals of the South. He wrote: ‘The War between the United States and Mexico’ (1851).
