Frenssen, Gustav. A German novelist; born at Barlt, South Dithmarsch, Oct. 19, 1863; died in 1945. His principal writings are: ‘Jörn Uhl’ (1901); ‘Hilligenlei’ (1906); ‘Klaus Hinrich Baas’ (1909); ‘Sönke Ericksen’ (1913); ‘Bismarck’ (1914). (See Critical and Biographical Introduction).
