Hamlin Garland (1860–1940)

Garland, Hamlin. An American story-writer and poet; born in La Crosse, WI, Sept. 16, 1860; died in 1940. His works include: ‘Main Traveled Roads’ (1891); ‘A Spoil of Office’; ‘Prairie Folks’; ‘Prairie Songs’ (1893); ‘Crumbling Idols’; ‘Little Norsk’ (1893); ‘Rose of Butcher’s Coolly’ (1895); ‘The Long Trail’ (1907); ‘Money Magic’; ‘Other Main Traveled Roads’ (1913); ‘A Son of the Middle Border’ (1917).
