Henry Chettle (c. 1564–c. 1607)

Chettle, Henry. An English dramatist; born in London (?), about 1564?; died there (?), 1607?. He was contemporary with Shakespeare, and his best play is probably ‘Hoffman,’ a tragedy. He wrote various pamphlets, popular in his day.
